38 We’re LIVE! Greater Haywards Heath Bike Ride: Eight years and stronger than ever! Sunday 15 th April 2018 is the date set for our eighth Greater Haywards Heath Bike Ride and it will be just as challenging a ride for you ‘serious’ riders, exhilarating for our ‘weekenders’, and a truly fun family day for all of us. Our website is now LIVE for registrations so sign up soon and get our Early Bird Discount! From our family friendly 12 miles to the ‘Wiggins Way’ at 74 miles, 2018 will, once again, see four routes, with well-spaced ‘comfort breaks’ for our riders, and feed stations for our longer riders. Our traditional rousing send off for all riders will set you on your way and even more cheering and entertainment on The Broadway from 10.30 am to welcome you all home and make it a truly fun day for you, your family and your friends. All riders will be ‘chipped’ of course, so you’ll all know how well you’ve done! As Chairman, Martyn Armitage, says: “In 2017, with the incredible support of our loyal sponsors, and the amazing hard work of our marshals, helpers and friends, we raised over £14,000 in 2017 for three local charities (Age UK West Sussex, Sussex Oakleaf & Sussex Autism Support) and we’re so truly grateful to you all and to the hundreds of riders who join us each year. In 2018, we will be raising funds for Kangaroos, here in Haywards Heath, and the Air Ambulance Service so do come along, have a great day and know that your entry fee is helping others. What is even more exciting is that we’re looking forward to welcoming our European friends from our ‘twinned’ towns of Bondues and Traunstein as the three towns celebrate the 20 th and 25 th Anniversaries of friendship!” Nicola Bird, Orchards Manager, adds: “Our annual Bike Ride is just the best social and fun event of Haywards Heath; it’s wonderful to see everyone getting together and working so hard (and playing so hard!) to really help our neighbours and friends.” Having ridden in every Ride since the beginning, UK CEO of 1 st CENTRAL, Andy James, knows all about the rewards and pitfalls: “We’re very proud to continue our support of what is now a firm date in our social calendar! The 1 st CENTRAL team of over 20 will, once again, be riding next year – although not all of us will be attempting Wiggins Way!” Once again, there’ll be Pre-Registration in The Orchards on the Saturday, from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm, so you can have another half hour in bed on the Sunday! And, if you register now at www.hhbikeride.co.uk, you’ll get a special Early Bird Discount. So please come along and join us for a very special day; make the 2018 Bike Ride the very best and biggest ever and, don’t forget that, even if you’re not a cyclist but would like to be part of the fun, do get in touch and help us to marshal or register. Call Ruth on 01444 453399 (ruth@i-dmc.co.uk). Finally, we’re so delighted and truly grateful to welcome back our loyal sponsors who continue to support us, so a big THANK YOU to 1 st CENTRAL, The Orchards, Fairfax Properties, Collinson Group, Masters & Son, Mike Oliver To advertise please call 01444 412552
