HAMAM<br />
Hamams are particularly well known in Jordan,<br />
Persia, Syria and Turkey. Previously, travellers would<br />
stop at a hamam to rest, wash the desert sand from<br />
their bodies and prepare themselves for the next<br />
stretch of their journeys. They have been a mainstay<br />
of bathing culture ever since.<br />
The ritual begins with a warm, aromatic steam bath.<br />
After your body is lathered up on the marble table,<br />
your circulation is stimulated using the kese (a peeling<br />
glove). The soap suds are then rinsed off with<br />
water. After the peeling, dive into a bathing experience<br />
straight out of 1001 Arabian Nights. Your skin<br />
is then oiled using the finest oils and its moisture<br />
replenished. The final stage is spent resting in our<br />
luxurious, oriental bed.<br />
