I am a textile artist with a special interest in
creating art quilts. For much of my life I
have also been a teacher – and still get a
thrill from working with others, passing on
what I have learned and watching
people’s confidence grow. In 2015 I
published my first book, ‘Quilting Originals’
which seeks to help people design and
create their own art quilts.
I made my first quilt in 2008 and haven’t
stopped since. My work develops from
periods of reflection followed by
experimentation with dye, paint, print,
stitch and the manipulation of fabric to
create interesting surfaces. I also like to tell
stories of people and places, often those
that society prefers to overlook or forget.
But I also like to laugh – I’m not always as
serious as some of my work might make me
seem.
I am an award winning Juried Artist
Member of Studio Art Quilt Associates
(SAQA) and member of the Contemporary
Quilt Group of the Quilters Guild of the
British Isles. I exhibit my work extensively and
currently have pieces in several juried
exhibitions worldwide. My work is also in
several public and private collections.
