It was not the will of God for the
nation of Israel to have a human
king. God was their King, but they
rebelled against Him and rejected
Him. They not only rejected Him
but also demanded for a king to
rule over them so that they could
be like other nations and He had
to let them have their way. This
was the acceptable will of God.
You should be very careful not to
allow God to let you have your
own way; it is going to be
regrettable. God will always
oppose those who oppose Him.
The reason why some people are
frustrated in life and have not been
able to achieve anything significant
is because they have insisted so
much on going their own way to a
point that God has no choice but
to let them be. Sometimes we
enter into the trap of the enemy
and meet with disaster because of
the acceptable will. We must
guard our hearts above everything
else and not allow them to reject
God or depart from him, otherwise
When the time comes, you
will complain bitterly
because of your king,
whom you yourselves
chose, but the Lord will not
listen to your complaints.
(1 Samuel 8:18)
So when you get into
trouble, I will laugh at
you. I will make fun of
you when terror
strikes—when it comes
on you like a storm,
bringing fierce winds of
trouble, and you are in
pain and misery. Then
you will call for wisdom,
but I will not answer.
You may look for me
everywhere, but you will
not find me. You have
never had any use for
knowledge and have
always refused to obey
the Lord. You have never
wanted my advice or
paid any attention when
I corrected you. So then,
you will get what you
deserve, and your own
actions will make you
sick ~ Proverbs 1:26-31
