Mokshi is the founder Director of Indo<br />

Canadian Arts & Culture Initiative<br />

(ICACI), a non-profit organization<br />

hosting and celebrating Womanhood<br />

Gala every year in March and this<br />

year they are celebrating 6th Annual<br />

International women’s day event in<br />

Mississauga.<br />

Mokshi believes in giving back to community<br />

and she is one of the few people who are willing to walk the<br />

extra mile for the benefit of the community. A successful Real<br />

Estate Broker with Homelife SilverCity Realty Inc, Mokshi is<br />

already a busy woman helping her clients buy and sell property<br />

and holding homebuyer’s seminars and workshops for her<br />

clients.<br />

She has grown her business primarily through partnerships and<br />

collaborations. Her expertise is in building relationships,<br />

networking, marketing and social media. Mokshi has built an<br />

incredible following in the South Asian community and has<br />

helped numerous people understand how to use their gifts and<br />

talents to give back to the community and find purpose in their<br />

lives.<br />

Nahida and her family immigrated into<br />

Canada in 1980 from Jordan.<br />

Nahida planned on becoming a school<br />

teacher when she disc<strong>over</strong>ed Psychology<br />

while working at Ryerson. In 1997 she<br />

earned her degree in Human Behaviour<br />

and also finished in 2002 Anthropology<br />

degree.<br />

She had been awarded three different honorary doctorates in<br />

Dubai, Jordan & Canada. Nahida is the founder and President of<br />

The Arab Women Club of Canada, which is a life renewal activity<br />

social club designed to equip Arab Canadian women to transform<br />

any aspect of their life through changing the beliefs of their heart.<br />

When asked why I entered such a field, my answer is simple, "If it<br />

helps women, I want to understand it!" My goal is to "help people<br />

experience wholeness: spirit, soul and body!" My motto is “Nothing<br />

is impossible to the willing mind & heart”<br />

Nadia Asfour<br />

Community Service<br />

Nadia was born in Amman, Jordan.<br />

After graduating from Business<br />

Administration, she got married and<br />

moved to Dubai with her husband where<br />

they started a family. They have four<br />

wonderful children. She worked in the<br />

banking industry in Dubai for 20+ years<br />

and immigrated into Canada in 2003.<br />

In Canada, she owned and operated two Hero Burger<br />

restaurants before she decided to open Nana Couture<br />

boutique in Streetsville, Mississauga. She came from a family<br />

who worked in textiles in Jordan for <strong>over</strong> 50 years and made<br />

her follow her passion for fashion.<br />

Through Nana Couture, she has helped many community<br />

events and fundraisers using the wedding gowns from her<br />

boutique for fashion shows.<br />

In November of 2017, Nadia was honoured to receive the<br />

“Business Development and Growth” Award at the Brilliant<br />

Minded Women Gala for her hard work within the community.<br />

Nadia feels fortunate and blessed that her business can give<br />

back to the community. She also feels very involved and<br />

connected to helping couples with a limited budget for their<br />

dream wedding.<br />

Neetu Gupta<br />

Community Service<br />

Neetu Gupta is a well known community<br />

activist and grassroots organizer in<br />

Markham. After settling in Markham,<br />

with her husband, Anoop and two<br />

children. Netisha and Tanya, in 2003,<br />

Neetu became avidly involved with local<br />

schools in her community. From<br />

assisting teachers in classrooms to<br />

helping with fundraising,<br />

Neetu has shown her sincere dedication to supporting local<br />

schools and this led to her election as Parent Council Chair at<br />

Donald Cousens Public School in 2008. Neetu’s drive for<br />

community engagement is shown through her passion to build<br />

strong relationships with members in her community. She<br />

works closely with politicians of all levels in Markham to deliver<br />

results that have positive impacts in her community. Neetu is a<br />

Real Estate Agent with Public Choice Realty and a Director at<br />

Durga Consultancy Services.<br />

Currently, Neetu Gupta serves as President of the Markham-<br />

Unionville Provincial Liberal Association and is working day in<br />

and day out to ensure electoral success in her riding.<br />
