machine W11CNC.<br />
2014 ------------ Expansion of the machine program with a simple CNC cylindrical grinding machine with<br />
manual mode. Optimal use for the production of individual parts, prototyping, training<br />
c<strong>en</strong>ters and smaller manufacturing companies.<br />
2012 ------------ Further developm<strong>en</strong>t of the prov<strong>en</strong> WUG21, 4-fold internal turret, new C-axis software for<br />
non-cylindrical grinding. Ext<strong>en</strong>sion of all modules to the latest technology, all modules can<br />
be used universally.<br />
2008 ------------ The new building in Neckartailfing<strong>en</strong> with a production area of 3800 square meters is<br />
occupied. The expansion gave us ev<strong>en</strong> better production and developm<strong>en</strong>t opportunities<br />
for customer-ori<strong>en</strong>ted solutions. Developm<strong>en</strong>t of a new Torque B axis for fully automatic<br />
swiveling of the wheelhead to less than 2 seconds.<br />
2007 ------------ The world novelty WUG21 comes on the market. The revolutionary universal cylindrical<br />
grinding machine. - At the push of a button: 100% manual and 100% universal CNC<br />
cylindrical grinding machine.<br />
2004 ------------ An indep<strong>en</strong>d<strong>en</strong>t grinder program is created. Conv<strong>en</strong>tional, small CNC, large CNC and<br />
production cylindrical grinding machines. The ratio is 50% WEISS machines and 50%<br />
KARSTENS cylindrical grinders, retro and used.<br />
2003 ------------ The first fully automated CNC cylindrical grinding machines are developed and built for<br />
customers. The special feature of the CNC machine control system are the integrated<br />
loading devices and workpiece handling.<br />
2000 ------------ We now service 150 KARSTENS customers with maint<strong>en</strong>ance, overhaul and retrofit. In<br />
addition, the company begins to develop its own cylindrical grinding machines, the W 27 is<br />
still in the program today.<br />
1999 ------------ After finishing turning, milling, flat and cylindrical grinding, CNC-<strong>Technik</strong> <strong>Weiss</strong> became the<br />
service point for KARSTENS cylindrical grinding machines. Company KARSTENS provides a<br />
CNC cylindrical grinding machine to reliably develop the CNC software. Bernd <strong>Weiss</strong><br />
becomes the sole managing director and shareholder R<strong>en</strong>aming to CNC-<strong>Technik</strong>-<strong>Weiss</strong> GmbH.<br />
1993 ------------ Founding of Cech und Weiß GmbH after more than 15 years as a grinding technologist and<br />
machine developer at the grinding machine manufacturer KARSTENS. The focus is<br />
grinding on six cylindrical grinding machines.

Why using a W11CNC machine?<br />
The following processes are more time-consuming wh<strong>en</strong> using a conv<strong>en</strong>tional machine:<br />

• Approaching the diamond and infeeding<br />
• Setting the truing amount and the speed<br />
• Returning to the workpiece<br />
• Setting once again and comp<strong>en</strong>sation of the dressing value<br />
On the W11CNC machine such work processes are performed automatically. If the diamond<br />
and the workpiece are set, you can fully automatically dress, i.e. radii, chamfers, cones and many<br />
more. The truing amount will be comp<strong>en</strong>sated fully automatically.<br />
Other advantages of a W11CNC machine:<br />

• Automatic retracting of the grinding wheel to a safe change position externally and internally<br />

The prov<strong>en</strong> KARSTENS cylindrical grinding machine concept is the basis of the <strong>Weiss</strong> W11 machine.<br />
KARSTENS has produced more than 4.500 K11 machines and to this date about<br />
1,000 machines are used worldwide.<br />
In 1994, we have started the overhaul or with services of KARSTENS K11 machines.<br />
Shortly thereafter, the complete new construction of this machine took place as a so-called<br />
classical retrofit.<br />
Since 2010, we offer our customers the W11 cylindrical grinding machines alternatively as a new<br />
machine or as a retrofit. The complete technique has be<strong>en</strong> further developed and optimised for<br />
