FINANCIAL WORKSPACE
A bright, bold and inviting workspace.
A sophisticated blank canvas with colour elements brought in through art and graphics. Flexibility
designed into all elements to allow for the greatest variety of uses for the space. Creating
a welcoming place that celebrates the fabric of the building and surroundings, while staying
relevant. The addition of bold colours and graphics give the space a contemporary look.
MEDIA OFFICE
Dynamic workplace for a creative media company
Working for a creative client whose existing office was dark and uninviting, we developed a
layout to open up and modernise the space. Using raw materials with a monolithic floor and
accent colour we designed a scheme that could be built to the tight programme already set.
Bespoke joinery helped created interesting zones, dynamic team areas and unconventional
circulation spaces- re imagining this once dreary workplace.
FINANCIAL WORKPLACE
Modern spaces for a European bank in the City
MRD have worked on two projects for this City client each time the company grew and
needed to expand into additional floors of their building. With one and a half floors completed
in 2010 we were asked to design and oversee the new refurbishment of the executive suite
3 years later. The design of the new space had to have a consistent aesthetic but with some
playful and more luxurious elements this time round.
LIBRARY AND STUDENT LOUNGE
A bright and colourful space where students can
both study and socialise together
The original space on this floor was very enclosed and uninspiring. The aspiration for this project
was to create a bright and open space for the library and lounge where staff and students can
work and enjoy spending their time between classes. Adding a geometric pattern in the lounge
with bolon flooring and in the library with wall vinyl gives the space a bold, contemporary feel.
AGILE WORKPLACE
A colourful, inviting space where staff can work
together
The aspiration for this project was to create an area within the current office space that
promotes different ways of working. We designed a space that adds interest and bold colour
to an otherwise monochromatic office floor. Using pods and high backed chairs in different
configurations we have created an inviting area which people can use however they like. This
space aims to promote productivity and allow staff to move around, for group meetings, one
to one conversations or simply to have a break away from the static desk.
OFFICE AND COMMUNITY EVENTS
A bright and colourful multifunctional workspace
The company Team London Bridge required a new multifunctional office space. The space is
split into two areas, the office and an integrated community and events venue (the Hub). The
Hub is a collaborative space that will connect local organisations and individuals to encourage
engagement, connections and collaborations within the area. The hub’s versatile design is
centred around a need to strengthen local identity by offering a central venue for partnerships to
develop, delivering streamlined community activities including workshops, training, exhibitions,
showcases, consultation, meetings and events.
FINANCIAL TECH WORKSPACE
A colourful workspace where you can write on
every surface
The first of two projects for Acuris, the brief for this particular project was to create a fun,
creative and colourful workspace. By creating seating at different heights with a blend of furniture
we created a relaxed space for the team, coloured partitions livened the space whilst having a
functional purpose.
CONSTRUCTION FIRM OFFICE
A bold space using stong lines and rich colours
After working on numerous projects with this client we were delighted to be asked to refurbish
their own office. The office and meeting areas needed to be smart and professional for client
meetings that are regularly held here. We brightened the space by making the most of the
natural light and playing with accents of bright and rich tones. The tea point has a more relaxed
feel whilst staying in keeping with the theme.
FINANCIAL OFFICE
A clean contemporary space with an urban edge
This client approached us to refurbish the basement area for their office. The basement had
no natural light with a low level false ceiling. We created a lighting scheme that incorporated
integrated LED strips to give the sense of natural light along the length of the space. The false
ceiling was removed to expose the pipework and lift the ceiling height to open up the office.
FILM MEDIA WORKPACE
A bright a relaxing breakout space to unwind
Working with an existing disused space meant that we could be as creative as possible to
encourage staff to use the new breakout area. We introduced fun elements such as table tennis
tables to create a completely different environment to the office. An array of artwork was
selected by the client and arranged by ourselves to create a visual focal point.
COMMODITIES BUSINESS OFFICE
Seamless connection with external and internal
spaces
Working with an external architect to achieve the clients vision and expectations, the concept
was to create a space that directly links the external with the internal. The structural challenges
on this project included removing a supporting column at the clients request to create a
completely open corner when the full height doors are open.
The Client
The Brief
The Concept
Weeks
Commodities Business - Neathouse Pavillion
To design a roof extension which created additional internal space for the
client’s cafe at peak times. The space was to also function as an alternative
and inviting presentation space
Using retractable glazing and a floor that is flush with the external finish,
it can also be opened up to enjoy the sun in the warmer months
