Geraldine Payson, 90, of
Northbrook, died Feb. 23.
Payson attended Taft
High School where she was
editor of the school newspaper,
Vice President of the
Girls’ Athletic Association,
played tennis and golf and
continued to practice the
marimba. She took him to
many, many places, such as
the Adler Planetarium, the
Museum of Science of Industry,
the Brookfield Zoo,
Navy Pier and the Northbrook
Court playland about
a hundred times.

Judith Denenberg nee
Sklair, 79, of Northbrook,
died.
She was the beloved wife
of Burton for 60 years; loving
mother of Joel (fiancee
Cindy Surman) and
Fred; dear sister of Arnold
“Babe” (Florence “Fuzzy”)
Sklair and Anita “Nonny”
Karm and the late Victor
(Marilyn) Sklair; many
loving nieces and nephews.

Choir performed “Kyrie”
and “Gloria” from “Little
Organ Mass” and “Jubilate
Deo;” the Beginning
Treble Choir performed
“Sound the Trumpet” and
“Away from the Roll of
the Sea;” the Chamber
Choir performed “Evening
Prayer;” the Advanced
Women’s Choir
performed “Ad Amore,”
“Now I Become Myself”
and “the Psalm 23” (The
Lord is My Shephard);
and the Advanced Mixed
Choir performed “Kanarbik,”
“In Remembrance,”
“Kyrie” and “Alleluia.”
Performing as accompanists
were bassoonist
Emma Brooks, tenor saxophonist
Joe Cross, oboist
Kaitlyn Schneider, flutist
Agata Adamczyk, clarinetist
Matthew Lee and
Steven Hong, playing the
French horn.
The young women
were attired in full-length
dresses of black, blue,
green and red, while the
young men wore black
jackets and trousers, white
shirts and bow ties.
“This is my third year
of doing this,” said GBN
junior Amira McBeath. “I
love interacting with kids
from the other school. I’ve
made a lot of friends.”
GBS junior Adam
Brinati also has appeared
in the Glenbrook Festival
of Music every year he
has been in high school.
“We always do ‘Battle
Hymn of the Republic’ at
the end,” he said. “That’s
my favorite part of the
concert.”
GBS Instructional Supervisor
Mark Maranto
lauded the behind-thescenes
organizational
work of Travis and her
GBN music administrative
assistant counterpart,
Debbie Dean.
“Renee and Debbie do
yeoman work to make this
happen,” he said.
