FIRST THINGS FIRST
IDENTIFY YOUR BULLET
An increasing number of owners are unsure which model of modern Royal Enfield they have.
A Bullet is no longer a Bullet, it has moved on considerably since its introduction to India in the
early 1950's, so far there have been 3 major re-designs and many different models. Nearly 50%
of our returns are because the owner has not correctly identified the model they have. Please take
time to determine your exact model and year before ordering spares. We are talking about export
models here not home market, including UCE.
For 2018 we will see the new Himalayan and 650 Twins in the Royal Enfield line-up but these
are not available at the time of going to print and are not covered in this catalogue.
BULLET 350 + 500 (1977-2007)
The original "export" 350 Bullet was first
imported into the UK in 1977 and was
the old cast iron barrelled engine with
4 speed gearbox. The 500 was first
manufactured in 1989 and until 1999 all
Bullets were called "Enfield". From 1999
to 2007 they have been known as "Royal
Enfield". They were available in the later years
with 5 speed gearbox and electric start options
(and a left shift 4 speed gearbox in some countries). The
exhaust pipe on all these models pushes into the cylinder
head without being retained by 2 nuts as the later models.
ELECTRA X (2004-2008)
Not to be confused with the Electra model
for the Indian market. The Electra X
is the only export model to have the
leanburn engine. Available only as a
500cc it had an alloy cylinder barrel
as standard, separate 5 speed gearbox
and the exhaust pipe is retained to the
cylinder head by 2 nuts. First model with
disc brake on front wheel as standard.
SIXTY 5 (2002-2006)
Based on the "original export Bullet" above, this
was the first model with a combined 5 speed
gearbox and electric start. Produced
between 2002 and 2006 and only as a
500cc, it still has the cast iron barrel
and push in exhaust pipe and would
have the "Sixty 5" transfers on the
toolboxes.

EFI MODELS
(ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION)
ELECTRA EFI (2008-2012)
(ALSO KNOWN AS THE E5 OR G5)
This 500cc model was produced between 2008 and
2012. It was the first export model with
the unit construction engine. Available
in various colours as well as chrome.
These are easily recognisable by the
shape of the side panels and the unit
construction engine.
B5 BULLET EFI (2011 onwards)
This is the current base entry model.
Just because this is also known as
the "Bullet", do not assume that all
Bullet parts will fit. Early models were
available only in black but are now
available in various colours. Look out
for the winged tank badges, squared off
rear mudguard/tubular rear mudguard stays
and unit construction engine. WHAT IS A EURO-4?
In 2017 all new imports into Europe of Royal Enfields needed to meet new regulations called Euro-4. If your
bike was first registered in 2017 it does not necessarily mean it was imported in 2017. Importers/dealers often
have large stocks and have to order a long way in advance so many bikes sold in 2017 may not be to the Euro-4
specification. There are lots of changes but one most obvious is the introduction of ABS, easily spotted on the B5
and C5 by having a rear disc brake, on the GT look for the ABS module behind the engine.
C5 CLASSIC EFI (2009 onwards)
This has been in production since 2009. A true
retro style, available in various colours as well
as chrome. Again it has the triangular
toolboxes and an oval cover on the
right side just in front. It has the
tubular rear mudguard stays that
follow the rounded shape of the
mudguard.
CONTINENTAL GT 2013-2018
Royal Enfield's 535cc cafe racer, using
a new duplex frame with the same
externally looking unit construction
engine as the above models. Check
you still have a pulse if you are unsure
if you have this model!

Allan Hitchcock started Hitchcocks Motorcycles in 1984 specialising in parts for Royal Enfield and Enfield
Motorcycles when models built in Redditch were known as “Royal Enfields” and Bullets built in India
were known as “Enfields”. In 1988 we bought the entire business and goodwill of Gander & Gray who
were the acknowledged Royal Enfield spares experts having started way back in 1948 so our roots can be
traced back 70 years.
Whilst in the past we have had direct supplies of parts from Royal Enfield Motors in India we are totally
independent from them and the current UK importers, this gives us the freedom to source and develop our
own range of parts. We will continue to purchase genuine parts from liquidated stock of importers and
dealers as and when they become available, the latest being Classic Motorworks in the USA from whom we
bought their huge remaining inventory of genuine parts and accessories to complement our existing stock.
Whilst we stock parts for all Royal Enfield models from 1939 to the present day, this Hitchcock’s
Motorcycles 2018/19 catalogue is primarily aimed at the Royal Enfield Bullets from 1948on but there is an
ever increasing range of parts to suit other Royal Enfields and many other British bikes.
Royal Enfield over the last few years have gone from
strength to strength and during 2018 we should see the
Himalayan and long awaited Twins
reach the European roads. The
Himalayan will initially be
available as a 410cc whilst
the Twins will be known
as the Interceptor and
Continental GT, both being
650cc.
Once available we will
evaluate all models and start
developing various
accessories for them.
At the time of print,
these models are not
yet available so are not
covered in this catalogue.
Front Cover
BWP 242B, one of two factory works 500 "Bighead" Bullets prepared by Royal Enfield for the 1964 ISDT
(International Six Day Trial). These were ridden by Johnny Brittain and Peter Fletcher and had consecutive
engine, frame and registration numbers. The 2 bikes have recently been re-discovered in a bit of a sorry state
and Hitchcocks Motorcycles aim to bring them back to their former glory.
FITTING GUIDE, PLEASE UNDERSTAND IT
For further clarification of models please see the first 2 pages of this catalogue
On average over the last few years we processed over 500 orders each week, most of these were for Royal
Enfields covering a span of over 78 years. During these years Royal Enfields made in Redditch and in India
have produced countless different models and upgrades. It is therefore very important to know the exact
model and year of your Royal Enfield before ordering. This catalogue is primarily
FITMENT GUIDE 350 500
BULLET (EXPORT) 77-07 89-07 aimed at the various models of Bullet from 1948 to present day, however there
48-62
89-07
53-62
are an ever increasing number of parts which are suitable for any Royal Enfield or
virtually any motorcycle.
SIXTY 5 - 02-06
ELECTRA (X) - 04-08
Most of the parts in this catalogue have a “FITMENT GUIDE” associated with
THUNDERBIRD 03-08 -
them similar to the guide on the left. This guide is only intended for the post-war
E5+G5 ELECTRA EFI - 08-12
C5 CLASSIC EFI - 09on Bullet range and will help identify if the part is suitable for
B5 BULLET EFI - 11on your model. There are many models of Bullet produced just
CONTINENTAL GT 535cc 13on
for the Indian home market and derivatives produced by the
various importers all over the world and these differ in many ways to standard export
models so are not generally covered by this guide. If you are unsure, please ask before
ordering.
BULLET (EXPORT) - The standard Indian made Bullet with the “Classic” (do not get
confused with “Classic EFI”- see below) engine which has been imported into Europe
via the official importers. Can be 4 or 5 speed, kick or electric start. These differ in many
ways to unofficial imports which we call-
BULLET (IND MKT) - The Indian home market (also known as domestic) Bullets
have detail differences and not all parts are interchangeable. Again this heading only
covers the Classic engine.
BULLET REDDITCH - The English made Bullets from the
1950’s and 1960’s which were made in Redditch.
SIXTY 5 - Electric start “Classic” engine with 5 speed gearbox.
LEANBURN ENGINE
ELECTRA (X) - This is commonly known as the Electra X in the UK and just the
Electra in some other countries. It has the 500cc leanburn engine. Do not get confused
with the Electra which is produced for the Indian Market, this has the “Classic” engine
and is a completely different model which is not covered by this guide.
THUNDERBIRD - Even though this is not widely available
as an export model, we have included the pre-unit 350cc
Thunderbird in this guide as we frequently receive enquiries
for this model.
ELECTRA EFI or E5 or G5 - The first available model
with the new fuel injected unit construction motor. This was
first introduced in 2008 in some parts of Europe and simply put is the new engine in
the older Electra (X) chassis (with some changes).
CLASSIC EFI or C5 - The second model with the new fuel injected unit
construction motor. A true retro styled model with completely revised chassis and
looks. Do not get confused with the old engine which is now commonly called the
“classic engine”.
B5 BULLET EFI - The third model with this new engine introduced in 2011 as
CLASSIC ENGINE
EFI ENGINE
the starter model EFI. Looks very similar and shares a number of components, but not all with the older 350
Bullets.
535cc CONTINENTAL GT - The first cafe racer from Royal Enfield using a larger capacity version of the
EFI engine. The impressive café racer styling uses a brand new design of chassis, only the engine is similar
to the other EFI models. By the time you read this, the new Continental GT Twin may be available, this
catalogue does not cover the new twin.
