Q&A with Asif Ali and Ally Maki,
Stars of new TBS Show 'Wrecked'
The new TBS comedy “Wrecked” follows a group of people stranded on a deserted island. Asif Ali, who plays sports agent Pack, has performed improv and
stand-up comedy for years as well as starring in shows such as “Modern Family” and “Marvel Agents of SHIELD.” Ally Maki, who plays hopeless romantic
Jess, has had roles in “New Girl” and “Big Bang Theory.” Wrecked premiered on June 14th on TBS.

ALIST Magazine: Describe the show in 10
words or less.
Asif Ali: Wrecked is a very funny show about
a plane full of people from all over the world
that crashes on a mysterious island; they have
to learn how to live with each other in order
to survive. In this high stakes live-or-die
predicament, it either brings out the best or
worst in people, which in turns brings out the
hilarity in the show. So kick back with your
TV, functioning toilet and delivery pizza and
enjoy watching people who have none of
those make you laugh until you cry.
Ali Maki: Wrecked is a comedy about a
group of strangers that get stranded on an
island and need to survive and create a new
world for themselves without social media.
Chaos ensues.
ALIST: If you were to be truly “wrecked,’
what skills do you think we all need to
survive on an island?
AA: For me to really survive in that kind
of vicious environment, the top three skills
necessary would be:
1. Laughing at the idea that someone like
Bobby Jindal exists to make me forget I'm
going to die alone on an Island. 2. Condoms
to make me optimistic so I forget I'm going
to die alone on an Island. 3. Steve Harvey's
mustache to use as a life raft so I don't die
alone on an Island.
AM: Especially in this group, people skills
are great — being able to make friends and
make alliances and work together as a team
to survive. I don’t have any survival skills but
should probably to learn how to make a fire
just in case.
ALIST: What takeaways did you learn?
AA: I think the real takeaway from
“Wrecked” for our viewers will be laughter
and an appreciation that their lives aren't as
terrible as the group of misfits that keeps
messing up any chance of survival they have.

AM: We filmed in Puerto Rico and I live
in LA where we are an energy-driven place.
When I was in San Juan, I learned so much
about the people and their culture — they
were so wonderful. I learned a lot about
the rest of the world and how it operates. I
did learn some survival skills because I was
eaten alive by mosquitos, to the point where
I needed doctors. We were filming on the
