South Woodham Ferrers WI March Report
South Woodham Focus
Our WI celebrated its 95th birthday with a party. The Eatery provided an excellent lunch which we enjoyed before the Meeting.
Steve and his girls did us proud again and thanks go to him and all the staff. Our guests arrived early and were delighted to have
done so as they joined us for lunch. They were most impressed with the food too. It was a lovely way to start our celebrations.
We welcomed guests from local WIs in the Hanningfield Group and they too enjoyed their lunch.
The Speaker was Steve Scruton from Scruton Wyatt Media and Ian Wyatt came
along to fill in the technical details as Steve spoke about ‘His Life in Radio’.
He told us he always wanted to be in radio as a boy and it took him a long time
to break in. He was always fascinated with Radio Caroline and even took his friends
to Harwich to take a boat trip round Caroline. Unfortunately they missed the boat
and he still regrets it didn’t happen for him. He worked on hospital radio for a
while and his break eventually came when he got a job at BBC Essex. He worked
there for 22 years and he and Ian still fill in when needed. Their shows are a good
listen.
When the anniversary of the demise of Radio Caroline came around, Steve and Ian
put their heads together and managed to get agreement to broadcast from a
vessel off Harwich with lots of the old ‘crew’. This turned out to be such a success,
bringing funds into Harwich, that when the Queen visited to see what had been
going on there, Steve found himself in a room full of local dignitaries lined up to
meet her. There were so many there that he thought she would just talk to a select
few. She actually spoke to everyone (he even remembered to call her ‘Mam’ – to
rhyme with ‘jam’) and he told her he was there as a thank you for recreating Radio
Caroline. He was amazed when she said that they used to listen to that at the
Palace! So the young lad with aspirations to be in radio couldn’t believe he was
talking to the Queen. It was a fascinating afternoon, full of musical memories (thanks to Ian) and very much enjoyed by the ladies.
Following this, we had tea and coffee (and cake, of course!) served by Delphin and Linda. Many thanks to them and also to the Committee who
worked so hard to make sure the afternoon was a success.
The Essex Federation County Annual Meeting was held at The Cliffs Pavilion this year. The ladies who attended reported that they had a lovely day.
The weather was most agreeable and they were even able to sit outside in the sun for a while during the break. The morning Speaker was a former
fighter pilot with the RAF, Mandy Hickson. She worked with a team of elite fighter jet pilots and emphasised the importance of maintaining a calm
demeanour under pressure. It was most interesting to hear her experiences.
The afternoon entertainment was by the West End Rat Pack which really went down well with the ladies!
A lovely lunch at The Royal Tiger in Rettendon was enjoyed by our ladies on one of the snowiest days of the year. This didn’t put anyone off and we
had a great meal. Thank you for making us so welcome – we will be back!
New Brochure is now ready
for collection
It’s a great time of the year to visit the RHS Gardens and shake
off memories of chillier months with the uplifting colours and
scents of spring
It is truly the season of new beginnings at Hyde Hall as its major
investment projects near completion this spring, and work
begins to create beautiful new horticulture in the Hilltop area. In
the meantime, there will be plenty to find around the Hilltop
Garden on the Spring Trail, including the delightful pink and
white blossom of Malus ‘Butterball’, fragrant Viburnum x
burkwoodii ‘Anne Russell’ and double-headed Narcissus ‘Thalia’.
In late spring, look out for rich blue spires of camassia with its
striking star-shaped flowers on tall stems.
On Clover Hill, plants that have earned the RHS Award of Garden
Merit offer plenty of seasonal inspiration for home gardeners.
The burst of golden flowers on Forsythia x intermedia 'Lynwood
Variety' AGM are a welcome sight in early spring, while the pinkflushed
white blossom of Japanese quince 'Moerloosei' AGM will
put on a show for several weeks. The earliest-flowering rose of
spring can also be found here: the sunny yellow blooms of Rosa
xanthina 'Canary Bird' AGM appear in May to herald the coming
summer months.
Check on the progress of Hyde Hall’s new Winter Garden close to
the Visitor Centre and see how the planting has been designed
to create interest throughout the year – not just winter. The
drooping sprays of bell-shaped yellow flowers on Stachyurus
praecox ‘Rubriflorus’ in early spring offer a contrast to the fluffy
white balls of blossom appearing on Prunus maackii ‘Amber
Beauty’. Elsewhere, containers of tulips including deep purple
‘Recreado’ and lemon yellow ‘Budlight’ can’t fail to raise a smile.
Easter is here, Hot cross buns and chocolate Easter eggs. I love chocolate. I can
eat a whole slab in one go. I just love chocolate. It’s amazing isn’t it how we use
the word love to define so many things. I also love chocolate cake. We so often say
we love............. What do you love? Football?, and
then in the same breathe we say I love my
spouse/partner, my children. We express this word
love differently with our spouse/partner, children.
-#(#%%$).//&
Maybe, that’s what love is all about, how we express
it. When I officiate at weddings and the bride and groom exchange
rings, part of what they say is “I no longer live for myself I am now
living for you.” And the ring becomes a symbol to that truth, that
they are now living for each other.
Back to Easter, the hot cross buns and Easter eggs are cool, but the
true expression of Easter is found in God’s great love for you and
me, expressed in Christ Jesus on the cross. Because it was there!
Nailed! With a broken body and spilled blood that Christ called out
“Father, forgive them they don’t know what they are doing.” That’s
an amazing expression of love! Christ carries the marks of the cross
on his hands as a reminder that he no longer lives for himself, but
that he is living for you. That love asks the question, who are you
living for?
Have a great Easter – and please don’t eat too many Easter eggs.
Removing tea and coffee from your carpet
Kevin Barber Owner of Careclean, Carpet Cleaning Business has been established
for over 34 years and will be writing our featured monthly column on Cleaning
providing tips and guidance to keeping your home clean and healthy.
What’s the most common spill we get asked about? Would you
believe, it’s tea and coffee? We all love a good cuppa, but what do
you do when you spill some on your carpet? Well, before you
head for the cleaning cupboard, WAIT! Read our top tips below for
removing the spillage.
Removing tea and coffee from your carpet
When removing tea and coffee from your carpet, you actually take
the same approach as any other spillage. Stains generally occur
when a substance dries on a fabric… so don’t worry a spillage is
not an immediate stain! However, if possible, try to remove tea and
coffee as soon as possible after the spill. Here’s how you do it:
18!51$58#:430&(8 " :9::7-27326796::96,4.::/8%5:9
Firstly, use a towel or cloth to dab the tea/coffee out. Do not
rub as this tends to spread the spill and can damage the
carpet pile. Be very patient, take your time and remove as
much as possible this way.
Next, dampen a cloth with a little water and dab this onto the
area. Again, no rubbing! Then repeat with a dry cloth to again
soak up any of the moisture.
When you feel nothing much more is coming out (or you run
out of patience!), place a large wad of paper tissues on the
area, with a couple of heavy books on top, and leave
overnight. This draws liquid out of the carpet into the tissue;
by morning things should look a lot better!
EASTER IS COMING – MAKE SURE YOU’RE
PREPARED WITH YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS
Easter will be with us before we know it. As most pharmacies
and GP practices close on bank holidays, Mid Essex Clinical
Commissioning Group (CCG) is reminding people who need
medication to get ready by making sure they have enough of
their usual medicines to see them through the long weekend.
Paula Wilkinson, Chief Pharmacist at Mid Essex CCG, said: “We
advise that you put in the order at least a week before your
medication is due to run out, as it can take three to four working
days to process a repeat prescription. The lead-up to Easter sees
GPs and community pharmacies even busier than usual, so it’s
even more important to be prepared.”
“It’s also worth making sure that you only tick the items you
require if you take more than one medicine. Using electronic
repeat prescriptions is an easy way to help you do this – if you are
not already registered for the service, just speak to your GP
practice.”
In an emergency, pharmacies sometimes can issue a medicine you
really need without a prescription. There are pharmacies around
mid Essex open on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter
Monday – there is a list over the page.
If you do need an emergency supply from a pharmacist, take
along an old prescription or the medicine's packaging if you have
them.
If you can’t get to a pharmacy, there are still a number of ways
you might get urgent help. For general information about
options available to you when your usual pharmacy is closed, visit
NHS Choices at http://bit.ly/2Gm1LlX. You can also call NHS111
free of charge.
By being organised, we can all support our hospital and
ambulance services to prioritise the patients with greatest need
and reduce delays for the right care.
THE FUTURE OF SOUTH WOODHAM FERRERS
We would like to thank all residents who managed to comment in the
consultation period despite Chelmsford City Council making the process
extremely difficult to do so!
Reading the comments on their portal it is evident to us that there are
a lot of passionate people in this town who want no development and
those that do only want it with guaranteed improvements to
infrastructure and local services.
So far, we have counted that 251 people have made objections with only
3 in favour. We expect these numbers to rise as the city council inform
us that they are still processing submissions and this may take a few
more weeks. No other town or area in the local plan has anywhere near
the amount of comments from SWF. In fact, if you add all of the areas
together, their comments do not add up to ours. Many residents are
clearly passionate about their town as they also showed when 700 of
them objected in the consultation last year.
We believe that the message is now loud and clear and should
encourage our MP, Essex councillor, City and town councillors to now
use every opportunity they have to represent the views of the residents
that have elected them and use their influence to deliver what the
residents have said in their consultation comments. In last years’
consultation, and this, the comments have been consistent and the
message is the same. We now need the city council to listen and start
giving this town the respect it deserves.
This group has no political associations but we can tell you that our
conservative MP, our conservative Essex county councillor, our
conservative city councillors and the vast majority of our town
councillors, including most independents, are all in favour of
development of our town. Some will say that this must come with
appropriate infrastructure and improvements to local services, but to
date, there has been little detail given from the city council of exactly
what this will be and we have little confidence there will be. You may
wish to contact our elected representatives and ask them to reflect your
views and you may also want to remember these facts when the next
elections come along! Only town councilors Donna Eley and Peter Wyatt
(both independent) have spoken out against development of our town.
The wider picture shows that South Essex needs to deliver over 50,000
new homes as instructed by central government but it appears that the
infrastructure to support this has to be funded in the main by the
developers. The numbers are frightening and will change our lives
completely.
There are action groups such as ours elsewhere - Billericay, Rayleigh,
Hullbridge to name just a few. We are not all “Nimbys” we are just very
concerned as to how our towns and county will cope with the increased
numbers. It is irresponsible to just hope all will be well. We have a
responsibility to existing residents and future generations to ask what
will be provided and when.
We believe that as central government is dictating these numbers then
it is they that should provide the infrastructure and the local services
that will be required across the whole county. Our elected
representatives, particularly our Essex MPs, should be uniting together
to send the same message.
Our own MP, John Whittingdale, has been very quiet on the subject and
seems unwilling to engage publicly. He told this group when we met
with him that he is in favour of the town growing but indicated he
would be asking for the appropriate infrastructure.
If he is reading this (or his conservative colleagues are), it would be
great to hear from him stating his current position and what he intends
to do in the face of the clear concerns that have been expressed by
residents in this town. Sixteen years ago when the town last faced
development plans, Mark Francois (now Conservative MP for Rayleigh &
Wickford) helped us to stop them. We now call on Mr Whittingdale to
do the same.
Thanks for reading and thank you for all of the messages of support you
have sent us.
We really appreciate it.
The Somme in July 1916, The German Retreat to the Hindenburg Line
and the 3rd Battle of Ypres 1917. Following the Russian surrender and
the collapse of the Eastern Front huge numbers of German troops were
transferred to the Western Front as the German High Command knew
they had to use this advantage before the arrival of fresh United States
troops following their entry into the war on the allies side. The German
Spring Offensive started on 21st March 1918 and George would have
been involved in the battles of St Quentin 21st - 23rd March and
Baupaume 24th - 25th March leading up to the 1st Battle of Arras which
started on 28th March. British troops had not been involved in defensive
battles since the 2nd Battle of Ypres in 1915. It is not clear whether
George was killed on 27th or 28th March but, no doubt, as a gunner his
position would have been under fire before the German attack on 28th.
He is buried at Gommercourt Wood New Cemetery, Foncquellers which
contains the remains of 750 Great War casualties of which nearly two
thirds are unidentified. He was awarded the 1914/15 Star together with
the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. He was just 23 when he
was killed.
George was born in London and baptised at St Jude’s, Whitechapel on
12th August 1895 the son of Christopher, a butcher, and Lucy Thorne of
36 St Jude Street. When he was 16 George was also employed as a
butcher. The 1911 census shows Christopher, by then a widower, living at
Gresham Villa, South Woodham Ferrers. Sadly George’s brother Francis
was also killed in action 25th September 1915.
If you have more information about George or any of the other residents
commemorated on the war memorial I would love to hear from you. You
The annual 14th Swimarathon, which is run by the South
Woodham Ferrers Rotary Club, is open to anyone who can
gain sponsorship to earn money for charitable good causes.
Overall 254 swimmers swam during the period from Friday
evening March 16th to Sunday afternoon March 18th. and
swam 5040 lengths of the pool which equates to some 126
kms overall. Certainly it could be termed a good workout for
many.
The event was opened by the Town Mayor, Councillor Peter
Wyatt Pictured also are Rotary President Geof Clark, and Lynn
Adams from Action for Carers in Essex who were the main
nominated Charity for this year’s Swimarathon.
Last year the Swimarathon earned £9k for charitable
organisations and we are hoping to match that amount or
better again this year.
Thanks to Ahead4 who also provided computers and their
partner Essex Digital Copiers who provided a large copier to
print the certificates for the swimmers. Our grateful thanks
to our corporate sponsors Church and Hawes, Peach Financial,
to the charity. Also we wish to thank SWF Focus for all the
Many of the teams from this year have already booked up for
next year’s event and we will be looking to include more
swimmers to enjoy the excitement that everyone did this year.
Maldon Drama Group. A Bunch of Amateurs is a heartwarming
comedy set in deepest Suffolk telling the tale of a hard working Am
Dram group who manage to persuade fading Hollywood star
Jefferson Steel to travel to the U.K. to star as King Lear for the
Stratford Players in order to raise funds to save their theatre.
Arriving in Stratford St John in Suffolk rather than Stratford Upon
Avon, Jefferson is not best pleased!
Written by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman the Samuel French
production is directed by Helen Rasmussen and stars many familiar
MDG faces. Scott Peters returns as Jefferson Steel, with Carey
Brown as Dorothy. The play also features David Ford, Ghislaine
Davis Rade, Dina Harris, Martin Adams and Marie Belsey, with
support from Carole Ash and Chris Pond.
This comedy is not to be missed, after many weeks of rehearsal it
is still making the cast laugh out loud, a good sign if ever there was
one!
Tickets are on sale now from Maldon Tourist Information Centre,
Wenlock Way, Maldon and can be purchased over the phone on
SWF U8's vs Chelmsford
25th March'18
With the weather over the
last month - we hadn't
played much rugby, so to
get back into the swing
against Chelmsford was a
good challenge.
The squad was spilt into
two teams of : Alfie, Keith,
Logan, Luca and Olly on
one pitch and Brad, Katie,
Mikey, Noah, and Reighly
on the other. Chelmsford
gave us a player for each game to allow us to go 6-a-side.
Both Woodham Teams started brightly and showed good
defence, causing Chelmsford to turn over the ball. We didn't
always manage to keep up that level of focus and intensity,
but it shows that we have it in us. The passing and support
play was good throughout. The odd knock on coming for both
Woodham and Chelmsford due to the pressure of the
defences were putting on each other. We did play very tightly
at times and need to use the full pitch more to our advantage.
The try count was running fairly even and there were some
excellent phases of play that had the supporters shouting
their appreciation.
BBC Essex Radio visit SWF RUFC for Sports Relief
This week South Woodham Ferrers assisted Rob Jelly, BBC
Essex Early Morning Breakfast radio presenter, with his
attempt to try as many sports in a day. Rob was attempting
to try 12 different sports in 14 hours all in aid of sports relief.
Starting at 06:00 Rob had already taken part in Boxing,
Synchronised Swimming, Weightlifting, Fencing, Korfball,
Rock Climbing, Table Tennis, Football, Paddle Tennis and
Tennis before taking on Rugby at the home of London 1
Team South Woodham Ferrers RUFC just before 13:00.
Rob’s stop at South Woodham Ferrers Rugby Club marked
his half way point of the day. Working with Under 14’s Coach
and Club Press Officer David Lawrence, Rob was taken
through a number of rugby drills introducing hand/eye
coordination, passing/catching of the ball, safe tackle
technique, presentation of the ball after the tackle, tackle
practise and general rugby fitness drills.
With a background in American Football, Rob was a natural
at Rugby and David said that ‘Rob had a natural flair for
Rugby and was very easy to coach, tacking on board advice
during each of the sessions to improve his ability. He would
be more than welcome back to the club to take part whenever
he wanted’. Rob went on to complete Gymnastics, Skiing,
Kayaking and Netball before finishing off the day with
Athletics back in Chelmsford.
Top international guitarist tops the bill at major MS Easter charity gig in Colchester
AWARD-WINNING Australian blues-roots guitarist and singer Geoff
Achison will top the bill at an exciting Easter gig in Colchester in aid
of the charity MS-UK.
Achison - winner of plaudits, including a coveted Albert King Award
from the American Blues Foundation - is known worldwide for his
energetic live performances, original songwriting and unique guitar
style.
He is taking time out from a busy UK spring tour schedule to play a
very special MS-UK Virtuosity show at Colchester Arts Centre, on
Easter Saturday (March 31), appearing alongside two of Essex's most
popular home-grown blues acts.
Tickets are on sale now for the four-hour show, which also features
Tim Aves & WOLFPACK and solo artist Martin McNeill.
Achison tours the UK most years, backed by the UK Souldiggers, a
crack squad of British musicians, including British Blues Hall of Famer
Sam Kelly on drums. The
music is firmly steeped in the
blues but with elements of
funk, soul, jazz and even
classical elements - Achison
terms it "bluesic".
Equally adept on electric or
acoustic guitar, Achison's
shows range from blistering
blues/rock to solo acoustic
performances. He can rock
the house with brilliant
intensity - then the crowd to
silence with beautiful,
delicate phrasing.
Second on the bill Tim Aves &
WOLFPACK are fronted by
singer, guitarist and
harmonica player Aves, still
well remembered in
Colchester as a member of
long-running r'n'b band
Automatic Slim. For this show,
WOLFPACK be joined on
guitar by a special guest,
American guitarist Ben
Tyzack, of top London band, the SPIKEdrivers.
The show is opened by veteran Thames Delta bottleneck slide guitar
master Martin McNeill, one of the busiest musicians on the Essex
blues scene and a Colchester resident for several decades.
The show is part of MS-UK's national 25th anniversary celebrations,
and is being filmed and audio-recorded by students from the
Colchester Institute as part of their coursework.
With nearly four hours of music in prospect, doors at the Arts Centre,
in Church Street, Colchester will open at 6.30pm, with the first act
hitting the stage at 7pm sharp.
Advance tickets are £16 (£15, concessions) with a four tickets for the
price of three offer also available. Admission on the door on the
night will be £19. For tickets and details, call Colchester Arts Centre
Wanderers wish Joshua “au revoir”
The reverse fixture of South Woodham Ferrers under 13 Wanderers
versus Trinity Youth Blacks saw a second half Trinity annihilation of
Wanderers, so there was some trepidation prior to kick off.
Wanderers opened brightly: an alert Tom H long range pass found
Mack running on and the keeper was forced to parry the ball with his
feet. From Charlie’s huge goal kick Will gave Jacob a similar
opportunity but the well-organised defenders wrestled the ball away.
Freddie had a busy half, getting back to defend and battling to move
the ball forwards; he and Mack had the lion’s share of first half
possession before Wanderers fell behind from a scrambled own
goal (not Daniel for a change!) Charlie made a splendid save when
the impressive, rangy Trinity midfielder danced through a series of
half-tackles. Luke moved back to break up the play: Will’s forward
ball found Jacob’s feet perfectly but the keeper again booted the ball
off the line. Trinity pressed forwards relentlessly but Daniel and
Matthew kept calm at the back, while Tom H set off on a trademark
charge down the wing, only for the ball to somehow reverse and
give Charlie another save to make. In a game of multiple free kicks
on both sides, Trinity edged further ahead as an enormous free kick
was deflected over the line (this time Daniel’s knee made sure).
Undeterred, Wanderers were soon back in the mix, with Alfie’s pass
setting up Luke’s header past the keeper to open Wanderers’
account, but Trinity pushed on with a hopeful ball that was
deceptively dangerous to put the reds 1-3 down at half time.
The second half was full of emotion as Joshua came on for his
swansong game. Daniel and Joshua have been team mates since
the AFC Woodham Wildfire’s seven a side squad formed and
together they joined the Wanderers - Wildfire – Burnham – Danbury
hybrid team with Charlie R, Freddie and Matthew. There have been
ups and downs along the journey, but the boys have listened and
learned from assorted coaches over the years: they win, lose or
draw with dignity and play the game the right way. Historically, we’ve
been verbally abused by some “charming” opposition parents and
many have doubted that Joshua is really eligible for our age groups
over the years. Joshua has taken it all in his stride and though we
are sorry to see him go, it is to his credit that he recognises his
commitment to karate has hampered his training and match
availability recently. Personally, I am disappointed that I do not have
to spend my Sunday evenings searching for references to
mythological giants to describe Joshua’s pitch presence. Wistful
feelings were soon cast aside as Luke’s persistence and
determination kicked in, beating three defenders and the keeper to
put Wanderers within sight of their opponents. Tom F and Luke
combined effectively to surge forwards but a grateful defender
edged the ball off the line. Joshua delivered a superbly timed tackle
when a sprinting striker powered forwards but nothing could be done
to keep out a subsequent, unstoppable Trinity lob. Ultimately, the
real difference between third and seventh in the league was Trinity’s
slightly more accurate passing. That a Trinity player commented on
Wanderers’ improved physical presence illustrates their progress in
this far more challenging division A. Wanderers pushed forwards,
drawing plenty of tackles but free kick king Will was kept busy
without managing to fully penetrate the defensive shield.
Exasperatingly given the positive defensive stance, Trinity edged
ahead when the ball rebounded in from a corner. Luke and Daniel
both had gilt-edged chances to even the scores but could not beat
the posts. Final result? Wanderers scored three times the number
and conceded half as many goals as their previous Trinity thumping:
hopefully a fitting tribute to send our friend Joshua home smiling x
SWFU FC U15 LIONS 5 – 1 DUNMOW
UNITED VIPERS.
SPORT
25
Blackwater and Dengie League U15
Division Three League Cup Semi-Final –
1st Leg.
SWFU U15 Lions took a massive stride towards their third
consecutive League Cup Final, with a hard-earned victory against
Dunmow United Vipers.
Joe S netted two of the Lions goals in the first half, with Alex
adding the third. Dunmow had clear intentions to cause an upset
and scored before the interval.
The Lions sustained a barrage of attacks in the first ten minutes
of the second half. United goal-stopper Oliver (aka: Mr Safehands)
was on top form, producing some excellent blocks. Josh,
Callum, Dan W, James O, Morgan and Edward were keeping the
back line secure, assisted by Sam P and Dan S.
It was only a matter of time before the Lions broke through and
it was executed in clinical fashion. Tom H cleared the ball to Alex,
who charged onwards on the right with Joe S, Sam B and Michael
in support. Gliding past the last Viper defender, he dummied the
goalie and slid the ball into the net. 4-1 to the Lions! Woodham
were now dictating the play. Dan S chipped the ball to Joe who
saw his shot saved. His next strike on goal extended the Lions’
lead to 5-1.
The home side came close again when Joe side-passed to Alex,
who attempted a ground curling shot inside the left post.
Frustratingly the ball was nudged out of play by a small divot.
Michael was then brought down just outside the goal box. His
free kick was headed by Dan L and skimmed over the crossbar.
The final whistle ended the first leg of an entertaining Semi-
Final. The Lions visit Dunmow in a fortnight, with the highest
aggregate scoring team progressing to the League Cup Final.
SWFU U15 Lions today were: Sam B, Josh B, Will C, Callum C, Alex
G, Tom ‘H’, Dan L, Morgan L, Edward M (Capt), James O, Sam P,
Oliver R, Dan S, Joe S, Michael T and Dan W. Thank you to Chris
for being the Lion’s linesman today.
The SWFU U15 Lions wish everyone a very happy and peaceful
Easter.
SECURE CAR BUYER BLOG
The Snow Didn’t Stop Us Here At www.SecureCarBuyer.com
What a winter we’ve had so far. We have managed to carry on
throughout the bad periods of weather and snowfall and still get
to our customers as promised. We have a fabulous collection
team here who have trooped on despite the cold, damp and dark
conditions and they have looked after everyone as usual. Other
large and well known car buying companies (no names
mentioned) cannot compete with this type of service, they will
not come directly to you and this can be pretty difficult if your
vehicle is no longer road legal i.e. no insurance, no vehicle tax, or
maybe it has run out of MOT. Here at www.SecureCarBuyer.com
we can come directly to you, and you do not have to worry about
travelling to us in bad weather or if the vehicle is not road legal.
Alternatively, if you are able to make it to us (we are only a short
distance away in Rettendon) our friendly collection team have
also been good enough to drop our customers back at home
once we have made a successful purchase, you will not just be
shown the bus stop. We pride ourselves on our customer service,
and hope you would try us for a no obligation sale of your
unwanted vehicle. There is no cost for you to enter your
registration number into our website, one of our team will
contact you for further information before a quotation is
provided - this is to make sure we have all the details about your
car; maybe its had every service, or its got full leather and Sat
Nav or it’s only one owner from new - all of these additional
details can provide you with a better and more personalised
quotation. If you decide not to go ahead and sell your vehicle
then there is absolutely no pressure to continue. You really have
nothing to lose in trying us and we always look forward to
meeting a new face. Here’s now to Spring beginning and the
milder and warmer weather to quickly approach.
