The Southport Theatre & Convention Centre is one of the largest and most flexible multi purpose venues in
Merseyside and has undergone a major £40 million investment programme. Incorporating the popular
Southport Theatre, the beautiful Floral Hall and a variety of modern function rooms, this development also
includes the stylish 4 star Ramada Plaza Hotel adjacent to the state of the art Conference and Exhibition
Centre.

The Institute’s General Meeting and Conference has been an annual event for 57 years, with
high quality and professional education for its members. This year’s conference programme is
without exception and has been designed to continue to cater for the wide range of interests
and skills that our membership has with the focus on learning new skills in the ever changing
field of Podiatry.
However, some of the most rewarding learning often occurs during the coffee breaks in the
trade exhibition where we view new products, techniques and skills demonstrated by the
experts. This is also a place where old friends are reunited and new alliances are forged. The
conference offers us opportunities to ensure that we have the tools to practice at the very
highest level, thereby ensuring both our own future and the future of the Profession.
Once again, you are cordially invited to our annual event and to meet the National Officers and
members of the Executive Committee at the IOCP stand.
I would like to thank the conference team Southport Head Office and Malcolm Holmes for all
the hard work they have put in to make what I am sure will be a programme for an enjoyable
and memorable 57th General Meeting and Conference.

This year welcome to Southport – the home of the Institutes Head Office. On
this occasion we have done things somewhat differently, rather than use a hotel
for everything, we are instead utilising the Southport Theatre Convention
Centre.
Come and spend some time with us and meet up with old (or new) friends and
colleagues. Attend some of the lectures and workshops that make up a CPD
programme that has something of interest for everyone, and could increase
your earning potential as well. Attend the trade show, to see what is available
and chat to the representatives about your needs and/or their products.
