Recently, we installed Solar Shades on two iconic South Carolina Landmarks where you definitely don't want to block the
views. In Columbia, we installed Solar Shades at Williams Brice Stadium home of the South Carolina Gamecocks. Solar
Shades were put in to allow spectators the ability to enjoy afternoon games when the sun is high in the sky.
In Charleston, we installed Solar Shades in faculty offices, including former Mayor and Executive in Residence, Joseph Riley,
Jr. Downtown Charleston, South Carolina has been rated the 'Best City in the World' and has the views to prove it. What
exactly are Solar Shades?
Solar Window Shades Provide Glare
Control and Light Management
Solar Screen Shades allow as much natural light into a space as possible while controlling heat and glare, and maintaining the
user connection to the outside world. We offers a wide range of solar screen fabric and hardware choices to provide the
perfect solution for any office, school, healthcare, retail, or restaurant application.
Solar Window Shades Are
Perfect for All Types of
Commercial Applications:
• Schools
• Offices
• Hospitals
• Hotels
• Restaurants
• Stadiums
Building with Shades of Green
All of the Solar Screen Shades conserve energy, by
decreasing cooling costs and allowing passive solar
practice as well as allowing maximum use of natural
daylight in a building to decrease the need for artificial
lighting. This makes them an inherently green choice.
A number of our solar screen fabrics are also green in
terms of their material content; we have GreenGuard
Indoor Air Quality Certified fabric choices, PVC-Free
fabric choices, Cradle to Cradle Silver Certified fabric,
and fabric that is both recyclable and made from
recycled content.
Solar Window Treatments Provide
Increased Comfort & Productivity
Control glare and heat while increasing comfort for those
attending meetings and presentations. Solar Screen shades
make using personal data devices easier, allowing workflow
to continue smoothly even in a room with numerous windows.
Specialty Contract Fabrics
A selection of commercial fabrics that set the standard
for commercial buildings, including solar screen, sheer,
translucent, and blackout fabrics.
• Sustainable materials
• Energy Efficiency
• Fire Rated (FR) fabrics Antimicrobial fabrics,
including Sentry Translucent, that kills MRSA
and C-diff on contact
The Jack Russell Software Innovation Center

The Jack Russell Software Innovation Center
The Jack Russell Software Innovation Center was founded by Tabula Rasa HealthCare to develop technology that solves real
healthcare problems while providing leading-edge value to software innovation.
What would an innovation center be without a large avenue to display your work? Collaboration is a large contributing factor
to innovation. The video wall and large displays throughout the JRS IC enable their software developers and computer
engineers to share their findings with a large audience and train emoployees.
With comfortable breakrooms, shared workstations, and multiple conference rooms, this office is defintely an enjoyable place
to work.
Founded in 1915, Bishop England High School is the oldest and largest Catholic secondary school in the Diocese of
Charleston. Also known as "BE", the school is often called the “Flagship” school of the Diocese.
The school boasts a highly qualified faculty and staff with 73% of their classroom teachers holding a Master’s degree or higher
and has a 99% graduation rate with 98% of graduates continuing their education at a college or university.
As top universities begin to teach using more and more technology, high schools around the nation are struggling to keep
up with this wave of change. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is at the forefront of open learning and the school
places extreme value on digital learning. That's why we modeled our BE classroom designs around MIT's digital tools and
classroom management strategies for students to learn-by-doing through collaboration and content creation rather than
consumption.
What's so different about this
interactive classroom?
Our first goal was to create a classroom with technology that is familiar, intuitive, maintenance-free. That's right. No bulbs to
replace, no shadows, no warm up/power down time, and no dirty dry-erase boards. A classroom where classes are conducted
the way the teachers want and NOT around the technology itself.
Our second goal was to increase student engagement and teacher mobility. The interactive classroom layout and advanced
display systems are designed to enhance collaboration, interactivity, and connectedness. Our design also helps to enable a
personalized, 1:1 learning environment by wirelessly communicating with mobile devices and laptops.
13

What's in the classroom?
The focal point of the classroom is a large touchscreen display called the, Sharp Aquos Board. The open architecture of the
AQUOS BOARD interactive display seamlessly integrates with existing hardware and software investments. Other Sharp
displays are mounted throughout the classroom to make sure that each and every student has the ability to see clearly.
The chairs and desks are designed with wheels to encourage students to be more collaborative in problem solving. The desks
also include large dry erase boards and hooks for bags and coats.
The large glass boards that span the entire length of the classroom are designed to allow students to demonstrate problem
solving right where they sit. There's no need for students to huddle around a single dry-erase board. The glass boards also
come in a variety of colors, include a lifetime warranty, and clean up much easier than the alternative.

WHERE TRADITION AND
INNOVATION UNITE
Started in 1950 Christ Our King-Stella Maris, provides an outstanding Catholic education for students in Pre-Kindergarten
through Grade 8. Through strong programs in academics, fine arts, stewardship, and athletics, both staff and students are
challenged to fully explore their talents, to equip themselves with the necessary knowledge to interact with the complex
global world around them, and to lead active faith-filled lives as true disciples of Christ.
The header of the school's website reads, "Where Tradition and Innovation Unite." In keeping with this valued statement,
Christ Our King reached out to The Office People to create a classroom environment that would inspire collaboration, healthy
movement, and most of all—innovation.
Research has confirmed that moderate movement in the classroom can improve focus and concentration. Things like
standing desks, chairs with wheels, chairs with footrests, or chairs with curved legs for rocking are simple, yet they improve
on-task behavior.
15

We all know that sitting still isn't
the same as paying attention.
With that being said, our first goal in creating a new classroom design,
was to focus the student's attention on learning while channeling their
excess energy into healthy movement. Rockers encourage healthy
movement and a moderate range of motion. Perfect for classrooms,
libraries and other educational environments, these chairs can help turn
disruptive motion into healthy movement through the power of rocking.
Modern classrooms offer more
potential points of focus.
Our second goal was to create a classroom environment that is flexible.
Why? Because modern classrooms offer more potential points of focus
than in the past. From teachers to touch-screen displays, group
collaboration, 1-1 iPad learning, and tradition test taking, students face
more demands on their attention than ever before. Given the pace at
which technology and classroom curriculum are changing, the wisest
furniture choice is often the most flexible.
Teamwork makes the dream work.
Our third and final goal was to create a collaborative environment. An environment where desks could be rearranged based
on the current lesson plan and not the other way around. Allowing students to work together teaches them the importance
of teamwork and sometimes our greatest innovations come through that environment. The desks and chairs that we chose
for Christ Our King are easy to move and can be arranged into several different learning environments.
This past summer, The Office People was approached
by a leading hospital with the opportunity to develop a
web-based platform that would calculate and display
the estimated time of arrival of the hospital's patient
shuttles.
Our goal was to use the API from hospital's current GPS
system, write an algorithm based on routing and traffic
patterns, and design an easy-to-read/easy-to-follow
digital display.
Moving through uncharted waters in a short amount of
time, our developers discovered many moving parts
that would need to be included in our development. We
had to incorporate hardware, software, GPS drifting,
GPS canyoning, route changes, weather factors, human
error, and much more.
How does the completed
application work?
How are you displaying
the application?
The displays themselves are using Sharp's web-based
digital signage software. Using Sharp's program editor
we incorporated our newly designed HTML application.
Three-fourths of the screen displays the patient's
current location, the shuttle's current location, the
current time, the current weather, and the shuttle's
estimated time of arrival. Our design team was able to
incorporate moving shuttle icons with flashing circles to
show the viewer exactly where their shuttle is located on
the route. The bottom portion of the screen is filled with
content and scrolling messages distributed by the
hospital's communication and marketing team.
The task proved challenging, but the outcome shows
rewarding results. Patients will no longer wonder when
their next shuttle is about to arrive.
Along with lots of well-written code, the application
includes a back-end for manual override and control.
We developed a simple layout that allows dispatchers to
turn the system on and off, add and remove shuttles, as
well as a dashboard for sending live messages and
updates to each of the patient shuttle displays.
South Carolina Stingray’s Digital Signage

South Carolina Stingray’s Conference Room
ICE, GLASS, AND LOTS OF CLASS
On the ice and in the office, the South Carolina Stingray’s are surrounded by glass. The Stingray’s front office features an
open floor plan with lots of room for gameday equipment and employee cubicles. The teams management needed a second
conference room without interrupting the office’s collaborative workflow. The Office People worked with the Stingrays to
install a frameless glass conference room that fits seamlessly into their work space.
Glass walls are a cost-effective and sustainable solution for creating and dividing space. Glass walls also offer an unparalleled
elegance that you just can’t capture with traditional drywall. With several different glass options available from The Office
People (clear, frosted, etched, locally sourced, or custom designed), you’re able to tailor your office for increased daylighting
and improved functionality.
STUDY FINDS PLASTIC IN
BOTTLED WATER
More than 90 percent of some of the most popular bottled water brands contain tiny particles of plastic. That's according to
research conducted at the State University of New York by Orb Media, a nonprofit journalism group, which detected
"constellations" of plastic in brands including Aqua, Aquafina, Evian and Nestle Pure Life. Full report available at
theofficepeople.com. Tests on
more than 250 bottles from 11
brands showed contamination
with plastic including
polypropylene, nylon and
polyethylene terephthalate.
Plastic particles in the 0.10
millimeter size range were
found in bottled water at an
average of 10.4 per liter, while
smaller particles likely to be
plastic averaged 314.6 per
93% 10.4 314
of bottled water
tested showed signs
of microplastic
contamination
particles per liter bigger
than 100 microns
(about the width of
a human hair)
particles per liter smaller
than 100 microns which
are probably plastic
"Orb's findings suggest that a person who drinks a liter of bottled water a day might be consuming tens of thousands of
microplastic particles each year," it said. Researcher Sherri Mason of the State University of New York at Fredonia told AFP
that 65% of the plastic particles found were "fragments" of plastic, and included the plastic used to make some bottle caps.
The World Health Organization confirmed that it is launching a review into the potential risks of drinking bottled water.
MEET THE SKYWELL 5T
A Glass of Fresh Air
Perfect for offices or homes, the Skywell 5 generates up to five gallons of clean drinking water per
day — hot or cold. The Skywell App and interactive touchscreen engages users and offers water
consumption data and environmental facts.
How It Works
Mimicking the Water Cycle, the Skywell 5: The Skywell uses a series of high-quality cleaning and
filtering processes, each with a very specific function, in order to produce fresh, clean drinking
water from the air.
Air
The Skywell takes in and
filters the surrounding
air, removing dust,
airborne particles, and
bacteria.
Into
It is then condensed on
a cooled surface.
Water
The result is delicious,
clean Air Water.
How It Thinks
Your Skywell is no mere water cooler. It’s well-informed on environmental and health issues related
to drinking water. Take our daily EcoQuiz to test your knowledge on the environment or create
your own unique Hydration Profile, which allows you to set daily hydration goals, indicates water
consumption, and lets you know how many plastic bottles you’ve saved as a result of using the
Skywell. Even casual Skywell users will begin to think differently about drinking water.
Track your hydration and set daily water goals
The Skywell offers you the unique ability to create a Hydration Profile so you can access personal
water facts such as the amount of water you have consumed to date and the positive
environmental impact you’re having from using the Skywell. Plus, you can set daily hydration goals
and track your progress every day.
Why It’s Better
The Skywell represents the future of drinking water, with many meaningful advantages over other
common water sources. You control your own water — eliminating your reliance on potentially
contaminated municipal water and a decaying water delivery infrastructure. Decrease your water
and carbon footprint. Did you know that water requires pumping, piping, and shipping to a
treatment plant before it can even get into pipes and dispensed from your water taps? The Skywell
eliminates the need for this cumbersome and energy consuming process that heavily impacts our
environment.
Let’s take a look at two businesses.
One is on an MPS (Managed Print Service) plan and the other is not. The company without MPS purchases cheap
re-manufactured* toner cartridges to save money. Let’s say this toner costs $100, yields 2,500 pages, and the toner on each
black and white print covers five percent (5%) of the page; they pay four (4) cents per page. A black and white print with
twenty percent (20%) toner coverage costs them sixteen (16) cents! Any maintenance or service required is an additional
cost. Meanwhile, the company
on the MPS plan doesn’t worry
about yields or toner coverage,
instead, they pay a flat rate of
two (2) cents** per black and
white page with maintenance
and repairs covered at no
additional cost.
Do you know
how much your
printer fleet is
really costing
your business?
Let us provide you with a comprehensive fleet
management strategy, designed specifically
for your business. We will not only help free up
more time to focus on running your business;
but can also drastically reduce your printing
costs. Through Managed Print Services, we
June 6, 2017 | Erik Cagle | ENX Magazine
One of the challenges, and perhaps opportunities, presented in the quest to
provide quality customer service is the notion that no one loves buying a
copier. And Sean Mummert is out to change that by expanding the customer
experience.
The founder and president of The Office People (TOP) has twin passions when
it comes to his business. Mummert loves watching his employees grow and
thrive alongside the company, and he’s out to make sure his customers reap
TOP’s solutions way beyond both the copier and conventional thinking boxes.
These attributes helped earn Mummert a 2017 ENX Magazine Difference
Maker award.
“We are always trying to improve our business plan and invest in our staff and
technology to help us be better communicators and foster transparency with
clients,” Mummert observed. “We also love giving back to the community
through the TOP Fun Team. We sponsor and support numerous charities and
local events that help the community.”
Mummert’s goal when he founded TOP was to create a true total office
solutions company, with a myriad of offerings ranging from interior design and
AV solutions to digital signage, MPS, office furniture, website design, network
services and document management.
“We can set up everything you need to open or run an office with just one
company and one bill,” Mummert remarked. “We love making life easier for
our customers.”
Mummert takes his work ethic cues from people including Todd Hazelett, his
first boss at Lanier/3M, who liked to say “I don’t care what 12 hours of the day I
work because that was only part time.” His mother, too, underscored that
notion with one simple piece of advice: Never give up.
Suffice to say, Mummert has set the bar high for himself and the company. In
2016, TOP installed, trained and provided management of a 1,600-device pact
in less than six weeks and showed the customers a 20 percent savings by using
MPS in the process. The firm shows no signs of slowing down; Mummert wants
to grow his company’s MPS base by 10,000 devices in 2017 and expand into
new markets through acquisition.
So how does Mummert get customers excited about buying copiers? “It’s in
the experience around buying the copier, with better training, personalized
messages, account reviews, invitations to special events, local community
support and making it fun for the entire TOP team,” he said.
