ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Our school is in Muratlı district so it is called 'Muratlı Anatolian High School'
and it was put into service at Muratlı High School additional building in 1996.
He gave his first graduates in the 2001 - 2002 academic year - our school
moved to the new building in the 2007 academic year; our school has mixed
education. It has 16 classrooms, 4 laboratories, 1 multipurpose hall, 1 library.
Our school also have male and female pensions. We have 100 male and 100
female students.

NEWS FROM SCHOOL
The project team of our school visited Tarragona
city of Spain between 14.02.2016 and 21.02.2016
with 11 students and 4 teachers.
During the Spanish mobility with the participation
of 80 students and 15 teachers from 6 countries,
our project partner Riudoms Institut Joan
Guinjoan i Gispert High School was visited and
many activities were realized
Self-confidence, adaptability, openness, mutual
understanding, and solidarity are only a few
examples of what can be gained through an
Erasmus+ experience
The programme provided us opportunities for our
school to work together with partners in Europe
and to develop skills of our pupil.

THIS MONTH IN HISTORY
May 5, 1961 - Alan Shepard became the first American in space. He piloted the
spacecraft Freedom 7 during a 15-minute 28-second suborbital flight that reached an
altitude of 116 miles (186 kilometers) above the earth. Shepard’s success occurred
23 days after the Russians had launched the first-ever human in space, cosmonaut
Yuri Gagarin, during an era of intense technological competition between the
Russians and Americans called the Space Race.
Birthday - British nurse and public health activist Florence Nightingale (1820-1910)
was born in Florence, Italy. She volunteered to aid British troops in Turkey where she
improved hospital sanitary conditions and greatly reduced the death rate for wounded
and sick soldiers. She received worldwide acclaim for her unselfish devotion to
nursing, contributed to the development of modern nursing procedures, and
emphasized the dignity of nursing as a profession for women.

At the Battle of Myriokephalon the Byzantines fail to recover Anatolia from Turkish
rule.
May 19, 1919 marks the beginning of the Turkish War of National Liberation, a
turning point in Turkey's history. On this day, a young Ottoman general, Mustafa
Kemal, arrived in Samsun. The man, who would later be known to the world as
Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, stepped ashore on this small Black Sea Coast town to
embark on a journey, which would ultimately create the Republic of Turkey and a
new nation.

Positive and Negative Effects of Social
Media
s
ocial Networking sites and application are an increasingly entwined part
of our everyday lives. We use them to communicate with friends and
family all over the globe, to chat with friends down the hall to decide
where to eat, to network for jobs, and to connect with others with similar
interests.
Social media is growing rapidly throughout the world. More adults and
teenagers are joining sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter to interact
with friends, family, and strangers. The introduction of social media has
changed the world in many ways. It affects each individual in different ways.
Today it can be used as a very helpful tool in changing a person’s life, but at the
same time cause such conflicts which can negatively impact a person. While
there are some negatives associated with social media, the positives in
communication all around, has made the world stronger and a better place to
live in. The advantages of social media have been interesting to observe and
participate in for millions of people around the world over the past few years.
People have been able to communicate with people in their local neighborhood
and talk to people in other countries at the same time. People have formed
online communities that allowed them to get support, education, and even
promote and sell products. You can connect with people from school and learn
about news that is happening in other parts of the world. If you do not like
talking on the phone or lack time to meet in person, you can connect via social
media at any time convenient for you. You also have a list of contacts
maintained for you through the social media platform you use. But, these
advantages have a downside that raises ongoing concerns.Despite the
positives, there are many negatives associated with social media. Using social
media can make a person more vulnerable to predators and cyber bullying. In
this age, “Cyber bulling is quite common, can occur to any young person online,
and can cause profound psychosocial outcomes including depression, anxiety,
severe isolation, and tragically suicide.Cyber bullying impacts society in a
negative way because it is harming young teenagers’ minds. Furthermore,
Social media can also lead to brain disorders and can cause people to have a
hard time interacting with people face to face. “Social networking entices people
to spend more time online and less time talking to a person face to face.

Hadja had lost his donkey. While he was looking for it, he kept repeating,
