Hospitality
HIGH STANDARDS
Every hotel, guest accommodation and self-catering provider
featured in this Guide has agreed to meet the stringent
standards laid down by Eastbourne Hospitality Association or
has been quality assessed by either VisitEngland Assessment
Services or the AA.
PRICES SHOWN IN ADVERTISEMENTS:
Rates shown are generally within a ‘from and to’ price range
and usually reflect seasonal variations.
HOTELS AND GUEST ACCOMMODATION
Prices indicated are per room per night based on two people
sharing a standard double room (unless otherwise stated).
SELF-CATERING
Prices indicated are per unit, per week (unless otherwise stated).
THE SMALL PRINT
The information contained in all advertisements has been
supplied by advertisers and as such Eastbourne Borough Council
(EBC) cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions.
We recommend you confirm all details, prices, facilities, services
and any special requirements prior to booking to ensure they
meet your requirements as changes can occur. Eastbourne
Borough Council (EBC), as publishers of this Guide, cannot
enter into any disputes concerning tariffs or contractual
disputes. If you need to cancel your booking you must let the
accommodation provider know. A booking forms an immediate
contract and cancellation fees may apply. Your contract is
with the accommodation provider even if you have used
VisitEastbourne.com to assist with your booking.
RATINGS
For serviced accommodation there are two schemes to show
the quality, comfort, cleanliness, services and facilities of an
accommodation provider. Within both of the hotel and guest
accommodation schemes, you may find ‘Star Ratings’ (1-5 stars)
which have been awarded by either the AA or VisitEngland
Assessment Services (if the hotel or guest accommodation has
elected to join either scheme). These ratings are awarded by
applying the quality standards for each scheme with different
schemes for hotels and guest accommodation and with the
more stars indicating the higher the quality.
HOTELS
Hotels are larger properties and are managed on a formal
and structured basis. They must offer evening meals and be
licensed to serve alcohol. As a minimum standard all rooms must
be en-suite or have a private bathroom. They will normally have a
fully manned reception and offer a fuller range of food, beverage
and leisure facilities. Some hotels also offer entertainment.
GUEST ACCOMMODATION
Guest accommodation properties are often smaller
than hotels with perhaps more of a family home feel and
approach with a less structured service. They will often have
the owners on site. They range from one or two bedroomed
bed and breakfasts or medium sized town houses to larger
guest houses, which offer similar services to hotels.
SELF CATERING
These establishments have been either quality assessed by
VisitEngland Assessment Services or the AA, or meet the
standards set out by Eastbourne Hospitality Association.
All ratings are correct at time of print (Nov 2017) but are subject to
change. Please contact assessing body to confirm grading status.
scheme for VisitEngland Assessment Services and the AA please
