CHILDREN’S LIBRARY <strong>April</strong> <strong>2018</strong> PROGRAMS. All programs are free and<br />

7th to welcome our new director, Ruth Barefoot. The reception will be in the<br />
Community Meeting Room at 2pm. PRESCHOOL STORYTIME: Ages 3-5<br />
and their grown-up - Stories, songs and crafts. Meets in the Children’s Dept.<br />
TIME FOR TOTS: Held in the Library Community Meeting Room at 10:30 am<br />
on Wed. and Fri. Designed for children birth-36 months and their caregivers.<br />
LEGOS IN THE LIBRARY: Join us every Sun. 1-3pm in the Activity Room<br />
to make your own Lego creation. Children ages 5-12, younger is fine, too,<br />
when accompanied by an adult. Do not bring any Legos from home. TALES<br />
FOR TAILS: Join us in the Children’s Dept on Sat., <strong>April</strong> 14th, 1-2pm to read<br />
to a therapy dog. It’s a great way to practice your reading and meet a new,<br />
furry friend! NEW BOOK GROUPS! We have a Book Group for Elementary<br />
School readers in 5th grade <strong>April</strong> 23rd • We also have a Book Group for<br />

Anacortes Sister Cities Association presents “Rudy Gahler - Morocco<br />
and the Sahara” at 7pm on Thurs., <strong>April</strong> 5, at the Anacortes Library. Rudy<br />
will share his experiences traveling by camel and land-rover around and<br />
through the Altas mountains. Cities visited include Marrakesh and Fes. If<br />

The Friends of the Anacortes Library’s Art Committee is launching a new<br />
art exhibit program in the community room of the Anacortes Public Library.<br />
Artists residing in the 98221 zip code are eligible to submit digital photos<br />
of their two dimensional art for consideration. Send an e-mail to folartcommittee@gmail.com<br />
requesting info on how to apply. The first exhibition will<br />
be May 10 thru Sept. 13. Submittal deadline is <strong>April</strong> 20, <strong>2018</strong>.<br />
Meet Jim Lynch, author of the <strong>2018</strong> Whidbey Reads selection “Before<br />
the Wind” at the Oak Harbor Yacht Club on Thurs., <strong>April</strong> 19 at 3pm. Refreshments<br />
provided. Book sales and signing follow the program. Funded<br />
by the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation and Whidbey Island Friends of the<br />
