THE SANDPIPER RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION: Residents' Assoc. Meetings are on the 1 st Monday of the Month at 10:00 am in the library. November Elections reinstated the previous executive for a two-year term: Val Conway-Chairperson, Mary Sue Beda-Secretary and Karen Riddell- Treasurer. Next elections will be Nov 2017. We certainly had some good times in the last few months. Many enjoyed the final BBQ and some of us already can't wait for winter to pass so the BBQ can be fired up again. Our Thanksgiving Pot Luck under the watchful eye of Marietta was its usual success. Then Donna LeBreton and Mary Sue organized The Remembrance Day Soup lunch. It was wonderful to see all the symbols and posters honoring our Veterans in the lobby and the party room. This year a Remembrance Book for people to honor someone special to them was added in the front lobby. Hope you took time to read the entries and add your own. The Wii has now been added to the games room. It is good to see people having a good time. If you don't have anything to do you could phone a few friends and have a game of bowling. It can be both challenging and fun. Enthusiasts could start a Wii Bowling League. "Jingle and Mingle" was held on Dec. 19 and 48 people put on their Christmas smile and joined their neighbors for bell ringing and refreshments. Totally Free and Totally Fun. Watch for information about plans for a Sandpiper Photo Directory! Everyone who gets their picture taken will get a Free Directory and a Free 8" x 10" or coupon towards other pictures. Check the Bulletin Board beside the elevators to keep up-to-date on the events. KITCHEN CORNER: News about the changes in the kitchen. We now have enough white Corelle dishes and new cutlery for all our functions. This year's budget is gone but I'm sure we can come up with more things we need by the time the next budget rolls around in the Fall. FIRST FRIDAY DINNERS: Carla and Jacquie are doing a wonderful job of organizing these dinners. Dec. 4 was the big Turkey Dinner. That is always a favorite. Everyone enjoyed "From a Small Seed", the history of the Sandpiper read by Mary Sue. Please keep volunteering to help with the setup after the exercise group finishes on Friday morning. Usually they finish at 11 am or just before. Winter 2015 – Issue 12 - 2 -
