OUR NEW VICE PRINCIPAL
We at St.John’s are delighted by the inception of Mr.V.S.B.Thuseetharan as the Vice Principal. We
extend our heartiest congratulations and wish him numerous years of unstinted, fruitful service.
Mr.Thuseetharan a man of vim, vigour and vitality who has served under two principals, deserves this
recognition for his commitment and steadfastness to this educational institution.
Mr.Thuseetharan joined St.John’s College in 1995 after giving up his job as a Demonstrator in the
Department of Botany, University of Jaffna. He was appointed as a Coach (Athletics, Soccer and
Basketball) cum teacher. His gentle and pleasant demeanor won the respect and confidence of his
associates in no time.
He completed his Master of Education in 2006 (University of Jaffna). He also attended a course on
Mission Studies in Birmingham, UK. He excelled in Sports both in school and during his years at the
University. At school, he captained the College Athletic Team and won Colours in Athletics and Soccer.
In the University, he captained the University Athletic Team, won Colours in Athletics twice, won
Colours in Soccer and Half Colours in Basketball. He won the Bronze Medal in the Javelin Throw event
and was also a member of the Soccer Team which won the Gold Medal at the Sri Lanka University
Games.
Mr.Thuseetharan has demonstrated his capability and competence both in curricular and cocurricular
activities and has cruised through numerous intricate situations at school. He is a man of
indomitable perseverance and persistence, diligent in his work and extremely industrious. From being
a staff advisor of the Advanced Level Union in 1996, he slowly climbed up the ladder to be a Prefect of
Games, Supervisor of the Junior Secondary Section and finally to this coveted position of a Vice
Principal.
May God favor him in adequate measure to direct St.John’s College to new statures in keeping with its
well - known traditions.
