The <strong>Medway</strong> Business Council invites<br />
all business owners to attend the organization’s<br />
annual dinner meeting on <strong>May</strong><br />
16th from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Restaurant<br />

The meeting’s speaker is Jessica Strunkin,<br />
Deputy Director of the 495/MetroWest<br />
Partnership, to speak about advocacy,<br />
programs, resources and news to support<br />
the economic development of the region.<br />
The evening will also include networking<br />
opportunities, the election of officers and<br />
board of directors, and a delicious dinner.<br />
The event is open to any business owner in<br />
<strong>Medway</strong> and surrounding communities.<br />
You don’t have to be a member to attend.<br />
The 495/MetroWest Partnership,<br />
through a unique public-private collaboration<br />
with businesses, municipalities, and<br />
other stakeholders, is the regional leader<br />
for creating an environment that prepares<br />
for and cultivates sustainable growth.<br />
The Partnership accomplishes this by<br />
researching, coordinating, educating,<br />
and advocating for solutions to regional<br />
constraints and limited natural resources.<br />

Millis Safety Day a Hit<br />
Millis Police Chief Chris Soffayer and<br />
Millis Fire Chief Rick Barrett<br />
A successful Millis Safety Day took<br />
place on Saturday <strong>May</strong> 24, <strong>2018</strong> at<br />
the Veteran’s Memorial Building. Millis<br />
Safety Day was the idea and senior<br />
project of Millis High School senior Ryan<br />
Locke and his advisor Detective/School<br />
Resource Officer Dale Bickford. Millis<br />
Safety Day saw the involvement of<br />
many Millis Town Departments and organizations<br />
such as the Millis Police Department,<br />
Millis Fire Department, Millis<br />
Board of Health, Millis COA, Millis<br />
Emergency Management, Millis Girl<br />
Scouts, Millis Recreation Department<br />
and Millis Lions Club. State organizations<br />
such as The Norfolk County DA’s Office,<br />
Norfolk County Sheriff ’s Department and<br />
K-9 Unit, UMASS Medical Injury Prevention<br />
Department Distracted Driving<br />
Simulator and the American Red Cross.<br />

Dooley was on hand to present Ryan<br />
Locke with an Official Proclamation from<br />
the Massachusetts House of Representatives<br />
for organizing the first ever Millis<br />
Safety Day. The goal of Millis Safety<br />
Day was to inform and educate residents<br />
about all aspects of safety that would help<br />
to make Millis a safer community.<br />
