Repeat the following until the last two stitches: With yarn held at the front, slip the next stitch purlwise, Fig 7(b), yrn, Fig 7(c); purl together the next stitch and its paired yfwd, Fig 7(d). 28 ROWAN For the last two stitches, and with the yarn at the front to the work, slip the next stitch purlwise, yrn and k1, Fig 7(e). Slide the stiches back to the start of the needle ready to work the same row again. Row 1 worked in Yarn A Slip the first stitch knitwise, Fig 8(a). Repeat the following until the last two stitches: Knit together the next stitch and its paired yfwd, Fig 8(b) – this starts to form a column of “V’s” in blue, Fig 8(c); then, with the yarn in front, slip the next stitch purlwise, Fig 8(d). For the last two stiches, knit together the next stitch and its paired yfwd, k1, Fig 8(e). Turn the work ready to work row 2. Row 2 is worked in a similar manner, except that we
