These pictures show removing the engine <strong>of</strong> a 1998<br />

Boxster without a lift.<br />

Before beginning, I already had removed the rear<br />

bumper and the exhaust. I also had removed the coolant<br />

lines, brake and a/c lines, shifter cable, disconnected the<br />

wiring harness, etc.<br />

You must remove the engine intake also.<br />

The Bentley manual (<strong>Porsche</strong> Boxster Service Manual:<br />

19997–2004) does a great job describing how to remove<br />

the engine.<br />

• Drain all the fluids except oil (optional).<br />

• I loaded the front trunk with eight rotors and shocks<br />

to add weight to cause the front end to sit lower once it
