for students through programs, services and facilities including the <strong>Student</strong> Union,<br />

The <strong>Student</strong> Activity Center/Recreational Facilities Department is charged with the<br />

stewardship <strong>of</strong> the James H . Barnhardt <strong>Student</strong> Activity Center (including Halton Arena),<br />

Belk Gymnasium, and the various recreational fields on campus. To the thousands <strong>of</strong><br />

people who attend events in Halton Arena the SAC serves as the welcoming ‘front porch’<br />

<strong>of</strong> the University . The facilities are busy with a variety <strong>of</strong> campus and community programming<br />

as well as campus recreation . Daily operation <strong>of</strong> these facilities requires numerous<br />

student staff for whom this is an introduction to pr<strong>of</strong>essional employment after graduation .<br />
