o The NTIA/ITS <strong>Video</strong> <strong>Quality</strong> Experts Group (VQEG) is an <strong>in</strong>dependent group<br />

with members drawn primarily from the International Telecommunication Union<br />

ITU, but it is not exclusive.<br />

� VQEG has an ongo<strong>in</strong>g project, <strong>Quality</strong> Assessment for Recognition Task<br />

(QART), to perform series of tests to study effects and <strong>in</strong>teractions of<br />

compression and scene characteristics.<br />

o A recommended m<strong>in</strong>imum requirement for use of video <strong>in</strong> court for identification<br />

purpose of a face must be at least 90x60 pixels.<br />

o <strong>Video</strong> Acuity is a useful general real-world metric of video system performance<br />

o The NASA Visual Identification Model can predict human performance us<strong>in</strong>g a<br />

video system.<br />
