Descriptive <strong>Essay</strong><br />

The descriptive essay consists of a story about a person,<br />

situation or place, providing a solid description and using<br />

sensory details, and emotions when writing it as: love, hate,<br />

loss, among others.<br />

The writer creates a phrase or initial theme, which will be a<br />

guide for the rest of the essay, and indicates the purpose of it,<br />

giving a clear writing to the reader without confusing it


Structure<br />

• Entry to the start of the essay<br />

Introduction<br />

• Explanation by the author of the chosen topic<br />

• Details of the main points<br />

• The first paragraph: it lets the reader know the characteristics and details of<br />

observation about the object, person or place, which he chose to write the essay.<br />

Body<br />

• The second paragraph: discloses the environment, or the atmosphere in which the<br />

theme of the essay is located.<br />

• The last paragraph: description of the emotions and senses, giving life to the image<br />

of the theme of the essay.<br />

Conclusion<br />

• Revelation of the importance of the description<br />

• Summary of emotions and attitudes

The life of pets<br />

Introduction: The life of the pets, is very particular, since some live between<br />

families, other pets are with police, others are in places of adoption, they are in<br />

many parts of the world, and with different life.<br />

Body: The life of pets<br />

The first paragraph: The pets we usually see are: dog, cat, hamster, parrot and<br />

bird, they are animals that become part of a family, the dogs are large, some<br />

small and others of medium size, depending on the breed they are , they also<br />

vary between color, black, brown, white, cats, they usually reach medium size,<br />

they also vary between colors, gray, black, white, brown, or with stripes like a<br />

tiger, parrots if they are green, and they say some words, and the birds if they<br />

are of several colors, more varied than those of the dogs and cats, they are<br />

yellow, black, dark blue, among more colors.


The second paragraph: Pets have a life full of osbtacles, sometimes like those of<br />

people, they live difficult situations, but when they reach people who provide<br />

affection, love, food, they begin to form a family life, where you feel protected,<br />

and they feel love towards people, they create a familiar and friendly<br />

environment.<br />

The last paragraph: Pain, happiness, love, laughter, tears, are part of the lives of<br />

human beings, but also of pets and all animals in the world, they have all their<br />

sense alert, even more than people, they activate their senses more when they<br />

are part of a family, if one of them was close to another animal, they smell it, if<br />

the person is sad, the pet feels it and comforts it, if they go on a trip , the pet<br />

knows, and if the family goes to another house, the pet captures the idea<br />

of ​moving.<br />

Conclusion: It is important that as human beings, we give importance and value to<br />

life that we have, but also the lives that exist around us, the life of pets, it is great,<br />

it is unique, and it is necessary that every day, they are closer to a better existence,<br />

a food, a home, where they are respected, loved and valued.

Argumentative <strong>Essay</strong><br />

The argumentative essay is a kind of writing where the students or author<br />

express their own concepts about a specific topic, within an appropriate<br />

academic writing, respecting certain patterns and approaches, this type<br />

of essay imply the use of complex syntactic abilities. Therefore, the<br />

students must have developed several investigative, academic writing,<br />

grammar, and argumentative skills. The structure of an effective<br />

argumentative essay seek include the development of a hook,<br />

background data, thesis, that will support it for different claims, evidence,<br />

opposing insight, refutation and conclusion. In an argumentative essay is<br />

needed that the writer take a clear and strong position face the topic and<br />

argue the thesis statement.

How Have Changed the Advances<br />

Technologic to the Human Life<br />

Hook: For all those that believe that there are impossible things, I want to say them that the technology<br />

exist, and it’s here.<br />

Background: The technology exist since the first humans in earth, from something so simple like<br />

language and stone tools, in the history the human has fabricated tools in all periods, …<br />

Thesis Statement: In this moment almost all daily trouble have solution, and the problems that<br />

don not have solution, the science nowadays is working for find the solution<br />

Claim: The technology have made a dramatic changing in the life of human, in reason of improve<br />

the quality of life of human<br />

Evidence: The UNESCO (1997) has defined quality of life like “the satisfaction of an inclusive set of human<br />

needs which covers all aspects of living including material satisfaction of vital needs as well as more<br />

transcendental aspects of life such as personal development, self-realisation and healthy ecosystem”


Opposing: On the other hand many people thinking that the technology have many<br />

disadvantages, one of them it’s the interaction that have the children with electronics devices<br />

Importance: the children prefer have relationship through devices and internet and do<br />

not develop face-to-face relationship with each others, also the technology makes that<br />

the people thinking that all can do it of easy way and do not need make any effort, this<br />

create dependency of human toward technology<br />

Close: finally it is urgent that the governments of all countries put all their effort for that all<br />

citizen have access to internet, health technology, high services, and education through ICT

First of all, the main purpose of this essay is to<br />

define, explain, or also provide information<br />

about a specific topic and illustrate its points<br />

with specific examples, addition it provide<br />

information and analysis. The expository essay is<br />

a genre of essay that requires the student to<br />

investigate an idea, evaluate evidence, expound<br />

on the idea, and set forth an argument<br />

concerning that idea in a clear and concise<br />

manner. This can be accomplished through<br />

comparison and contrast, definition, example,<br />

the analysis of cause and effect, This genre is<br />

commonly assigned as a tool for classroom<br />

evaluation and is often found in various exam<br />

formats.


Expository <strong>Essay</strong> - Components<br />

Clear<br />

• A clear, concise, and defined thesis statement that occurs in the first paragraph<br />

of the essay.<br />

• Clear and logical transitions between the introduction, body, and conclusion.<br />

Body<br />

• Body paragraphs that include evidential support.<br />

• Evidential support (whether factual, logical, statistical, or anecdotal).<br />

Creativity<br />

• A bit of creativity!<br />

• A conclusion that does not simply restate the thesis, but readdresses it in light<br />

of the evidence provided.
