The Malibu City Council will hold a public hearing on MONDAY,<br />

June 11, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Malibu City<br />

Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Road, Malibu, CA, on the appeal of the approval<br />

Pursuant to the authority and criteria contained in the California Environmental<br />

Quality Act (CEQA), the Planning Commission analyzed the<br />

proposed project. The Planning Commission found that this project is<br />

listed among the classes of projects that have been determined not to<br />

have a significant adverse effect on the environment. Therefore, the<br />

project is categorically exempt from the provisions of CEQA pursuant<br />

to CEQA Guidelines Sections 15301(l)(3) - Existing Facilities and<br />

15303(c) - New Construction. The Planning Commission has further<br />

determined that none of the six exceptions to the use of a categorical<br />

exemption apply to this project (CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2).<br />

As such, Categorical Exemption No. 10-063 was filed for Coastal Development<br />

Permit No.08-055. A written staff report will be available at<br />

or before the hearing. Following an oral staff report at the beginning of<br />

the hearing, the appellants may be given up to 15 minutes to make a<br />

presentation. Any amount of that time may be saved for rebuttal. All<br />

other persons wishing to address the Council will be provided three<br />

minutes to address the Council. These time limits may be changed at<br />

the discretion of the Council. At the conclusion of the testimony, the<br />

Council will deliberate and its decision will be memorialized in a written<br />

resolution. Copies of all related documents, including the grounds<br />

for appeal, are available for review at City Hall during regular business<br />

hours. Written comments may be presented to the City Council at any<br />

time prior to the beginning of the public hearing.<br />

citywide. A full copy of Ordinance No. 434 is available for review in the City Clerk's office.<br />

Ordinance No. 434 was introduced by the Malibu City Council at its meeting held on May 14, 2018. Second<br />

reading and adoption of the ordinance are scheduled for May 29, 2018.<br />
