South boys tennis team.<br />
When and why did<br />
you start playing<br />
tennis?<br />
I started to play because<br />
I love the sport.<br />
My parents really wanted<br />
me to play because<br />
my dad played when he<br />
was growing up as well.<br />
I loved the sport when I<br />
was young and played<br />
with my grandfather and<br />
dad. I started playing<br />
more seriously when I<br />
was 10 or 11.<br />
What do you like most<br />
about tennis?<br />
I really like the aspect<br />
of being able to compete<br />
in the competitive side of<br />
the sport because just by<br />
competing, I feel like being<br />
competitive and having<br />
a good group of friends<br />
is really fun, especially<br />
when you’re competing in<br />
a match.<br />
Do you have any<br />
superstitions before a<br />
match?<br />
One of my favorites is<br />
the night before a tournament,<br />
me and my dad go<br />
to a Chilli’s and order the<br />
same meal, the same exact<br />
thing. We try to look for<br />
a Chilli’s near every tournament.<br />
I get the chicken<br />
tacos and he gets the veggie<br />
burgers, then we get an<br />
appetizer of the guacamole<br />
and dessert.<br />
What is one thing<br />
people don’t know<br />
about you?<br />
Baseball is actually my<br />
favorite sport. I loved tennis<br />
a lot, but I just loved<br />
playing and watching<br />
baseball.<br />
What is your favorite<br />
sports moment?<br />
My sophomore year, I<br />
was playing doubles with<br />
my partner and trying to<br />
play singles. There were<br />
a few people competing<br />
for the singles spot, I beat<br />
one of the players but also<br />
lost to one of them, so<br />
coach decided to put me in<br />
doubles. So I won doubles<br />
with my childhood friend<br />
and we were playing the<br />
defending state champions<br />
and we won on a hard<br />
three-set loss, their only<br />
loss of the season.<br />
If you were a<br />
superhero, what<br />
superpower would you<br />
want?<br />
I would want to fly because<br />
I feel like flying is<br />
cool, just to be in the air.<br />
What would you do if<br />
you won the lottery?<br />
I would go to all four<br />
Grand Slams in tennis.<br />
I’d also want to travel the<br />
world with my family,<br />
we’re big travelers. I’ve<br />
been dying to go to Australia.<br />
If you could play<br />

I would play soccer. I<br />
played when I was younger<br />
but I like water sports<br />

What is your favorite<br />
area restaurant?<br />
It’s definitely Chipotle.<br />
I could eat it breakfast,<br />
lunch and dinner. I usually<br />
get a chicken bowl.<br />
What is one thing on<br />
your bucket list?<br />
I want to see as many<br />
places as possible.<br />
If you could be any<br />
animal, which would<br />
you choose?<br />
I would be a monkey<br />
because it would be cool<br />
to swing tree to tree and<br />
they’re smart.<br />
