Northfield
Township kicks
hunger to the curb
The Northfield Township
Food Pantry believes that
hunger is unacceptable in
the community. For more
than 45 years, the Northfield
Township Food Pantry has
been providing assistance
to residents of Glenview,
Northbrook and Northfield
who are unable to provide
enough food for themselves
and their families.
Food insecurity is a very
real problem facing many
township neighbors and
their children, and it is not
a seasonal issue. Residents
who are struggling to provide
enough food for their
families in the winter will
likely face those same
struggles during the summertime.
Today, more than 1,700
township residents are
able to visit the pantry
each month to select perishable
and nonperishable
food items that best meet
their families’ needs and
to receive grocery store
gift cards. The Northfield
Township Food Pantry is
truly a community pantry,
entirely dependent on contributions
for everything it
distributes.
No tax dollars are used
to supply the pantry.
Thanks to the generosity
of financial and food donors
and a dedicated corps
of volunteers, the pantry
provides essential support
to residents who are experiencing
hard times.
The pantry’s annual fundraiser,
Pantry Palooza,
will immediately follow
Glenview’s Summerfest
on June 30 in the downtown
Glenview Metra
parking lot from 5:30-
10:30 p.m. Headliner
97Nine will provide live
music, Pizano’s Pizza
& Pasta and RioBamba
food trucks will be selling
foods, and drinks will be
available for purchase. For
just $10 per person at the
door, guests can have a fun
evening out while helping
the community.
The pantry is located
at 2550 Waukegan Road,
Suite 100 in Glenview and
is open for donations from
8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday
and Friday and 8:30 a.m.-7
p.m. Thursdays.
North Shore salon guarantees
top-notch guest experience
In every successful business,
there is a heartbeat
— a pulse that no matter
how fast, stressed or chaotic
things might be, is the
glue that keeps it all together
and the rest of the
body going.
At Pascal Pour Elle, that
heartbeat is the front desk
and its guest coordinators.
They say that you never
get a second chance at a
first impression, and although
the magic might
happen behind the chair,
your professional salon
experience begins and
ends with the front desk.
The front desk coordinators
have the knowledge,
patience, training and experience
to assist the clients,
staff and management
to make sure everyone has
a great, smooth and enjoyable
experience. Pascal
Pour Elle’s front desk is
up-to-date on all hair care
products to help customers
with any questions they
may have and makes sure
customers have all the tools
needed to maintain looks
beyond the chair.
If you are new to the
area, or the salon, the front
desk workers will help you
find an amazing stylist and
colorist to explain all of the
services they have to offer
and help set up an amazing
experience at the North
Shore’s No. 1-voted premier
salon!
