Urinetown: the Musical by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis kicks <strong>of</strong>f TOB’s<br />
Season 52. In a dystopian city suffering a 20-year water shortage, private<br />
toilets are illegal. Caldwell P. Cladwell’s Urine Good Company controls the<br />
public amenities where the poor must pay to relieve themselves. Rebels<br />
who go illegally get the maximum sentence: a trip to Urinetown! When<br />
the poor can’t take any more, they kidnap Cladwell’s daughter Hope to<br />
break his grip on their city, and their bladders. This timely comedy about<br />
a society controlled by those who pr<strong>of</strong>it at others’ expense will make<br />
audiences think about what it takes to stand up to unprincipled power, and<br />
what could happen if we don’t.<br />
