Hampton art awards<br />
The Hampton Festival Art Exhibition attracted<br />
work from throughout the region, plus entries<br />
from year six students for a special competition.<br />
The exhibition was judged by Chris Postle of the<br />
Sunshine Coast, and has been a full time artist for 27 years.<br />
Mr Postle, the painting tutor at the USQ Winter School<br />
2018, selected a work by Karen Danielle “Nature Unfolds”<br />
as the overall winner.<br />
Miss Daneille wins the USQ Artworx Bursary.<br />

Nockatunga Muster, Rosalind Mason, It IS Winter, Donna<br />
Mitchell, Two Pumpkins, Di Hanson, Rainbow Flourite,<br />
Lyn Johnson, Having a Res, Margaret Shaw, Spawning.<br />
People’s Choice Lyn Johnson, Having a Rest, Hangers’<br />
rize Frank Mc Cormick, Morning Light.<br />
This year’s exhibition included for the first time<br />
an art competition for Year 6 students. The winning<br />
artist received a $50 gift voucher and five $10 highly<br />
commended certificates.<br />
The competition was open to year 6 students of the<br />
following schools: Crows Nest, Geham, Goombungee,<br />
Gowrie, Haden, Highfields, Kingsthorpe, Mary Mac<br />
Killop, Meringandan, Murphy’s Creek, and Toowoomba<br />
Christian College.<br />
The Year 6 competition winner was Charlie Ruwoldt,<br />
Crows Nest.<br />
Highly commended certificates - Annalise Jensen,<br />
Gowrie, Ruby Pascoe, Gowrie, Kalie, Mary MacKillop,<br />
Nadia Siddans, Toowoomba Christian College.<br />

The hangers’ prize was awarded to Frank McCormick for his<br />
painting titled Morning Light. He is pictured with J. Griffiths who<br />
bought the work.<br />
