"Woe unto <strong>the</strong>m That call evil good,<br />

And good evil;<br />

That put darkness <strong>for</strong> light,<br />

And light <strong>for</strong> darkness;<br />

That put bitter <strong>for</strong> sweet,<br />

And sweet <strong>for</strong> bitter!<br />

"Woe unto <strong>the</strong>m That are wise in <strong>the</strong>ir own<br />

eyes, And prudent in <strong>the</strong>ir own sight!"<br />

"There<strong>for</strong>e as <strong>the</strong> tongue of fire devoureth <strong>the</strong><br />

stubble,<br />

And as <strong>the</strong> dry grass sinketh down in <strong>the</strong> flame,<br />

So <strong>the</strong>ir root shall be as rottenness,<br />

And <strong>the</strong>ir blossom shall go up as dust;<br />

Because <strong>the</strong>y have rejected <strong>the</strong> law of Jehovah<br />

of hosts,<br />

And despised <strong>the</strong> word of <strong>the</strong> Holy One of<br />

Israel."<br />

(Isaiah 5:7, 11-13, 20, 21, 24, A. R. V.)<br />
