Chapter 48<br />

Our Burden Bearer<br />

My bro<strong>the</strong>r, remember that this earth is not<br />

heaven. Christ has declared: "In <strong>the</strong> world ye shall<br />

have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have<br />

overcome <strong>the</strong> world." Blessed are <strong>the</strong>y which are<br />

persecuted <strong>for</strong> righteousness' sake: <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>irs is <strong>the</strong><br />

kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men<br />

shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say<br />

all manner of evil against you falsely, <strong>for</strong> My sake.<br />

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: <strong>for</strong> great is your<br />

reward in heaven: <strong>for</strong> so persecuted <strong>the</strong>y <strong>the</strong><br />

prophets which were be<strong>for</strong>e you." (John 16:33;<br />

Mat<strong>the</strong>w 5:10-12)<br />

Jesus has not left you to be amazed at <strong>the</strong> trials<br />

and difficulties you meet. He has told you all about<br />

<strong>the</strong>m, and He has told you also not to be cast down<br />

and oppressed when trials come. Look to Jesus,<br />

your Redeemer, and be cheerful and rejoice. The<br />

trials hardest to bear are those that come from our<br />

brethren, our own familiar friends; but even <strong>the</strong>se<br />
