The Illinois Constitution of 1848 created Township
government to serve the fundamental needs of citizens.
At the grassroots level, it is a government of the people
- you and your next-door neighbors. With a population
of over 56,000, New Trier Township includes the villages
of Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka, and Glencoe, plus
portions of Glenview and Northfield.
SOCIAL SERVICES
Through social services New Trier Township government
assists individuals and families in crisis, persons with
disabilities, youth and seniors. Services for residents in
need include:
• General and emergency assistance for food, shelter,
utilities, clothing, medical care
• Food Pantry
• Child Care Financial Assistance
• Transportation Services
• Disability Employment Referral Services
COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES
The Township’s Supervisor’s and Clerk’s office provides
community based services including:
• Passports
• Community Education Programs
• Peer Jury
• Voter Registration and Election information
• Absentee Voting for residents of the
unincorporated area
• Vehicle Stickers for residents of the
unincorporated area
• Notary Public Service
• Temporary Disabled Parking Placards

real estate and property tax:
