RESETTLEMENT<br />
FAMILY REUNIFICATION<br />
<strong>IOM</strong> has worked on the resettlement of refugees<br />
to the Netherlands for over 20 years. In <strong>2017</strong>, the<br />
number of people who resettled to the Netherlands<br />
with <strong>IOM</strong> assistance was higher than ever before:<br />
2,267 refugees were resettled in <strong>2017</strong>, compared<br />
to 700 refugees in 2016. Also in <strong>2017</strong>, <strong>IOM</strong> the<br />
Netherlands worked on the relocation of 1,423<br />
asylum seekers to the Netherlands.<br />
<strong>IOM</strong> also provides assistance to family members<br />
entitled to reunite with their family in the<br />
Netherlands by arranging the travel and serving as<br />
contact point for the relatives or sponsors in the<br />
Netherlands.<br />
