Woman with a parasol is an oil painting made by Claude Monet in 1875. It is an
impressionist painting in which there are the painter's wife (Camille) and his son
(Jean).
The work that we did at the technology lessons is basically done using rubbish bags,
bottles, shopping bags and recycled cartoons.
Our work of art is 70 cm tall and 40 cm wide, plus 10 cm of frame.
As the work is done with plastic, its textures are similar to reality, the material that
corresponds to the sky and the people is smooth and the one to the grass is raspy.
The colours that predominate on the painting are cold. If we divided the painting into
three parts, at the top, we would find light blue; at the central a shadowy white,
focussed on the dress worn by the woman; and on the bottom, a mix of greens.
The painting is realist and naturalistic, because it shows a woman and a child in the
middle of a meadow. It is asymmetrical and it has depth.
The people that we can see on it are a child, who is looking at some flowers, and a
woman hanging an umbrella. They are both looking towards the front.
Our opinion about the painting, is that we recognize that the used techniques and the
level of each detail is very good, but for us it does not mean anything as most of the
painting is very simple.
Doing this painting has been very difficult since we have had so many problems
finishing it on time and the material choice, but teamwork has been very good.

Dona amb para-sol és una pintura a l'oli realitzada per Claude Monet el 1875 i que
actualment s'exposa al National Gallery of Art de Londres.
És una obra impressionista, que retrata a la parella del pintor, Camille i al seu fill Jean.
L’obra que vàrem realitzar a tecnologia, està feta bàsicament de plàstics reutilitzats i
cartró.
El nostre quadre, forma una figura rectangular i orgànica d’uns 70 centímetres d’alt i
uns 40 d’ample.
Com que està fet de plàstics, té una textura rasposa, a la part que simula l’ herba i
una textura suau, a la part que simula el cel i a les persones.
A l’ obra predominen uns colors freds. Si separam el quadre en tres parts, a la part
superior hi podem trobar un blau fluix, a la part central un blanc brut que vesteix i
dóna forma als personatges, i a la part inferior una mescla de diferents tons de color
verd.
