President’s Message
Helping people achieve a truly better life and a way forward
My father retired from a spinning company in 1930 and opened a small store. I was in
the third grade. The praise I received from our customers for running the store by
myself when my father was out was my sole source of hope in getting through those
dark years.
Since our founding, we have believed that meeting each individual’s needs is
indispensable to enabling people with vision difficulties to see well. We are convinced
that matching eyeglasses with a customer’s face, characteristics and personality will
fully bring out that person’s attractiveness.
As an eyeglass retailer with a long history, we have the potential to create new
approaches with worldwide appeal by combining Japanese insistence on high quality,
emotional bonds with customers, and the best of our country’s culture and technologies.
The chaos of the contemporary world provides an opportunity to begin a new era and
achieve a truly better life for every individual. As a company that can exceed the

This corporate logo embodies the PARIS MIKI Group philosophy of continued
expansion and encounters and connections with people across various cultures, genders
and generations.
The letters in the MANDALA spell PARIS MIKI lined up in alternating directions,
giving the design a sense of rotation.
The logo indicates the desire of the PARIS MIKI Group, which consists of people with
diverse personalities, to serve as a centrifugal force that provides new values and
services while also acting as a centripetal force on people and objects. It also represents

Oct. 1930 Seikakudo Tokeiten founded in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture
Jan. 1950 Miki Tokeiten Inc. established in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture by
founder Yoshio Tane (now deceased) as a retail store engaged in the
sale and repair of clocks, precious metals and eyewear
Mar. 1960 Renamed MIKI OPTICAL Inc. Business shifts exclusively to eyewear
retailing.
Mar. 1973 First overseas subsidiary, PARIS MIKI S.A.R.L., established in
France and store opened on Rue de l’Opera in Paris.
Jan. 1974 PARIS-MIKI CO., LTD. established in Chuo-ku, Tokyo as a base for
full-fledged opening of stores in eastern Japan
Jan. 1977 The Okayama New Vision Club (currently the International New
Vision Club) formed to succeed the Consumer Tester Group, which
had convened to reflect customers’ opinions and requests in
management.
July 1978 Miki Optical Institute established in Okayama City, Okayama
Prefecture to initiate research and development of new eyewear
tailored to individual customers
