Adult Literacy<br />
General Educational Development (GED®)<br />
CCRI operates two GED® testing sites, one at<br />
the Flanagan Campus in Lincoln and the second at<br />
the Liston Campus in Providence. The fee for the<br />
GED® test is $55. No registration fee applies.<br />
If you are interested in taking the GED® test, the<br />
first step is to register for a two-day orientation<br />
and assessment test session. You must be available<br />
for three hours each day. At this time, you will learn<br />
about the GED® test and be tested to determine<br />
the most appropriate next step based upon your<br />
individual needs. If you are academically prepared<br />
to take the <strong>of</strong>ficial GED® test, you will be able to<br />
register for testing at the Lincoln or Providence campuses. If you require some academic<br />
brush-up, you will be directed to an appropriate preparation class either at CCRI or another<br />
adult education agency.<br />
The Spanish GED® test also is <strong>of</strong>fered at CCRI. There is a one-day orientation/assessment<br />
required. If you require some academic brush-up, you will be directed to another adult<br />
education agency. CCRI does not <strong>of</strong>fer GED® Spanish preparation classes.<br />
Please note classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is<br />
recommended. If you are planning on taking the current GED® test you will need to complete<br />
by December 13, 2013.<br />
