WHY DID YOU ENTER THIS CONTEST?
Torrey: When I was growing up, I was the biggest tomboy.
You’d never see me in a dress, and I almost never wore
makeup. This lasted until I turned 24, right around the time
when I got my first “real” job. Then, I morphed into the
biggest girly girl! I love getting dressed up and putting on
makeup now. I am also a self-proclaimed selfie queen. To get
a chance to get dressed up and have fun taking pictures all
day—I didn’t want to miss the chance to do it!

WHAT DID YOUR FIANCÉ LEROY THINK ABOUT YOU
ENTERING THIS CONTEST? WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT
YOURSELF WHEN YOU WERE SELECTED?
Torrey: When I told Leroy I was entering this contest, he was
excited and said he wasn’t surprised, as he knows how much
I love getting dressed up and doing my makeup. He was
super excited when I was selected as a finalist and hoped it
meant he could hop into a few shots at the shoot! We love
capturing our lives together through photos, and we’ve taken
more than a few hilarious shots.
When I was selected, I couldn’t believe that it was
actually happening. It wasn’t until I was trying on dresses
for the shoot that I finally allowed myself to believe I was
a finalist. It was hard waiting for the actual shoot because I
was so excited! And I absolutely love The Citizen Hotel (we
actually took our engagement photos there), so I couldn’t
believe I’d have the opportunity to get dressed up in
wedding dresses there as well.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR COVER MODEL EXPERIENCE
Torrey: The application process was super easy, and I really
loved my interview. The Real Weddings team members were
all so nice so it made it very easy to share my love story with
Leroy. My favorite part of the day was shooting in the Scandal
Bar. It’s always been one of my favorite features of the hotel. I
love the lighting in there and the vibe the red walls give, and
the set decorations were amazing. When the day came to an
end, I wished the shoot could’ve gone longer! I had so much
fun and wanted to come back the next day to do it all again.
I had a blast and definitely encourage anyone who may be
considering it to apply. You won’t be disappointed, and you’ll
have a blast! OO
