ne fine sunny day Babybuglet was frolicking on the
lawn. She was playing hoppity skippity jump over the
blades of grass.
“Don’t do that,” said Mombug. “If you lose your balance and
tip over onto your back I won’t be able to help you.”
Babybuglet wiggled her wings at her mom and tossed her
feelers.
“Ag Mombug, I know what I am doing,” she said.
Mombug shook her head and continued devouring the aphids
on the rose in the garden bed.
“Wheeeee…. Look at me!” sang Babybuglet in a high piping
voice, as she leapt over the hose pipe.
“Wheee… wheeee…. Wheeeeeeeeeeeee…… Aaaargh Mombug – help
quick.” Came a muffled voice.
Mombug flew to her side and checked out the situation.
There was nothing she could do to help Babybuglet.
Babybuglet’s legs got weaker and weaker as she thrashed and
wiggled, trying to turn herself over.
Mombug wanted to say “I told you so!” but she was too
upset. Babybuglet would die if she did not turn over soon. She
decided to fly off and see if she could find some help.
The day was hot and the sun was beating down fiercely on
Babybuglet. She was so sorry she had not listened to
Mombug. She promised herself that, if she got out of this
sticky situation, she would never not listen to Mombug again.
