This was my first rudimentary attempt at<br />
making an interactive table. The surface<br />
is a diffuse plastic used <strong>for</strong> creating<br />
soft lighting <strong>for</strong> photography. It catches<br />
the projection well, however it is not<br />
transparent enough <strong>for</strong> a camera to see<br />
markers through. The scale is also too<br />
small; the camera cannot see the full<br />
range of projection at this distance, and<br />
the height is not optimised <strong>for</strong> viewers to<br />
interact with objects on the surface. This<br />
exercise helped me get a feel <strong>for</strong> how<br />
all of these parameters will affect the<br />
final table design. A bit of trial and error<br />
should help me find a good surface, and<br />
by measuring of the ranges of both the<br />
projector and the camera I should be<br />
able to define the scale precisely.<br />
