Report for Kingdom Coffee from the Vive Foundation
Thank you, Kingdom Coffee, for your financial support this year.
The Vive Foundation (formerly known as Vive Kids) works with churches in the
northern Coast of Colombia, helping them to run a Club for children aged 3 to 11.
The coastal areas of Colombia have been among the most severely affected by the
decade-long civil conflict. Many children live in poverty and are vulnerable to
violence and abuse. The Vive Foundation equips the local church to disciple and to
support the children in their community.
In 2016 your donation went towards our work in the following areas:
1.Training new churches to run a Children’s Club
This year five churches have received training in how to run a Children’s Club,
bringing the total to 38.
2. Supporting existing leaders
Leaders from one of the newest Clubs.
A training event for leaders was held at the beginning of the year, which 188
leaders attended. They received two days of training before running a holiday club
for the children of the local community. The content of the holiday club is then used
as the basis for a children’s camp, held by all the Clubs later in the year.
Two camps were held in August for the Club leaders. The main teaching was
based on the life of Paul, a leader in the early Christian church, but we also
covered relevant topics such as working with the youngest children in the Club,
loving difficult children and using our voice and face to communicate well. Over
130 leaders attended.
3. Providing Sunday School materials to the Clubs
This year we have worked our way through the Bible in chronological order
beginning with creation, looking at the wisdom of the Proverbs to help children
keep safe online, getting good and bad examples of leadership from Israel’s kings,

learning about statements Jesus made to help us understand who he is, and
about how his power can help the children.
4. Training leaders as contributors to the Sunday School curriculum
Around 20 leaders have been learning how to write a lesson for our Sunday School
curriculum. The idea is that next year their lessons will be incorporated into the
series of lessons we send to the Clubs every two months.
5. Encouraging the Clubs to contribute to a bank of resources
The Clubs are being encouraged to develop songs, games and activities which are
filmed and edited for use as an online resource for all the other Clubs. This project
is in a pilot phase at the moment.
