1 General information about the non-automatic weighing instrument<br />

All properties of the non-automatic weighing instrument, whether mentioned or not, may not be in<br />

conflict with the legislation.


1.1 Essential parts<br />

The non-automatic weighing instrument is equipped with the following parts:<br />

- Indicator, see table 1;<br />

- Slope detector, see table 2<br />

- Load cell(s)/ load transmission, see table 3;<br />

- Junction box, see table 4;<br />

- Load receptor, see table 5;<br />

1.2 Essential characteristics<br />

The weighing instrument, the internal printer and peripheral equipment are locked when the load<br />

transmitting device is more then 2° out of level on the X-axis (drive direction) or 2°out of level on<br />

the Y-axis (width direction).<br />

Further essential characteristics are described in the test <strong>certificate</strong>s involved.<br />

1.3 Essential shapes<br />

The data plate is secured against removal by sealing or will be destroyed when removed.<br />

To secure components that may not be dismantled or adjusted by the user, the non-automatic<br />

weighing instrument has to be secured in a suitable manner on the locations indicated in the test<br />

<strong>certificate</strong>s involved and indicated in the drawings numbers 11-1, 11-2 , 5 4 10 5 02 002 and 5 4 10<br />

5 02 001.The securing component has to bear either:<br />

- a mark of the manufacturer laid down in a notified body approved quality system (Annex II of<br />

the Directive 90/384/E<strong>EC</strong>), or<br />

- an official mark of a Member State of the E<strong>EC</strong>, or an other party to the EEA agreement.<br />

1.4 Conditional parts<br />

The non-automatic weighing instrument may be equipped with peripheral equipment which is used<br />

for the applications listed in article 1(2)(a) of the <strong>EC</strong>-directive (90/384/E<strong>EC</strong>), if the peripheral<br />

equipment is certified to be connected to an <strong>EC</strong> type-approved non-automatic weighing instrument<br />

by a Notified Body appointed to certify non-automatic weighing instruments according to paragraph<br />

I of Annex II of the <strong>EC</strong> directive on non-automatic weighing instruments.<br />

1.5 Conditional characteristics<br />

Further conditional characteristics are described in the test <strong>certificate</strong>s involved.<br />

1.6 Conditional shapes<br />

The indicator can be build in an explosion proof enclosure, see drawing nr. 5020-12 sheet 2.<br />
