<strong>Brother</strong> <strong>Printer</strong> <strong>Error</strong> <strong>Light</strong><br />
If you have a brother HL-2240, HL-2230, HL-2270DW, or HL-<br />
2280DW desk<strong>to</strong>p printer connected <strong>to</strong> your PC or Mac you will no<br />
doubt from time <strong>to</strong> time get a <strong>to</strong>ner error light or drum error or<br />
even just the error light up.<br />
Sometime this just seems <strong>to</strong> be the system getting it wrong and<br />
sometime it throws up a tuner error light or drums error even<br />
though there is still <strong>to</strong>ner left or the drum is still in good enough<br />
condition <strong>to</strong> continue printing.<br />
Here's how <strong>to</strong> get rid of ANY error light on your brother HL-2240,<br />
HL-2230, HL-2270DW, or HL-2280DW desk<strong>to</strong>p printer by<br />
performing a fac<strong>to</strong>ry reset.
Please note that his will completely reset you printer. Go here if you<br />
just want <strong>to</strong> get rid of the <strong>to</strong>ner error light on a brother laser.<br />
This is not a software solution so it works on windows XP, 7, 8, 10<br />
etc and also works on Linux and OS X.<br />
Fac<strong>to</strong>ry reset your brother laser printer:<br />
1. Turn off your brother printer.<br />
2. Press and hold down the go but<strong>to</strong>n.<br />
3. With the go but<strong>to</strong>n still held, turn on it back on again.<br />
4. When the three lights light up, release the but<strong>to</strong>n and then<br />
press the go but<strong>to</strong>n TEN times.<br />
5. Wait until the ready light is lit.<br />
Your brother laser printer should now be fac<strong>to</strong>ry reset and all the<br />
error lights (<strong>to</strong>ner, drum and error) should have s<strong>to</strong>pped flashing.<br />
IMPORTANT:<br />
You may need <strong>to</strong> restart your printer again before you can print and<br />
in some cases, because you have performed a fac<strong>to</strong>ry reset, your<br />
computer may not recognize the printer. You may need <strong>to</strong> delete the<br />
printer driver and install it again via systems setting (Mac) or<br />
control panel (PC).<br />
This may also work on similar brother printers although I haven’t<br />
