Creating an app
Let's now create a new Heroku app. New apps require a unique name, so replace
vuebnbapp in the command below with your own choice. The name will be part of
the app's URL, so make sure it's short and memorable: $ heroku create
vuebnbapp
Once the app is created you will be given the URL, for example: https://vuebnbapp
.herokuapp.com/. Put it in the browser and you'll see this default message:
Figure 10.1. Heroku default message New Heroku apps are assigned a free domain name, for example:
appname.herokuapp.com, but you can also use your own custom domain. See the Heroku Dev Center for
more information at https://devcenter.heroku.com.

Hooray! Your file is uploaded and ready to be published.
