SÉURA
STYLE
A little bit of swagger
and a whole lot of
style, we are Séura.
Séura Style is a set of fu
that defines our culture
ndamental behaviors
and shapes our success.
Continuously
Improve
and Innovate
Be Relentless about Improvement
Test the unproven, dive deep in the unspoken, and challenge the
unchallenged. Regularly evaluate every aspect of your job to find
ways to improve. Don’t be satisfied with the status quo. “Because
we’ve always done it that way” is not a reason. Keep getting better.
Innovate with Impact
Make competition irrelevant. Add value and innovation for Séura
and our customers by being inquisitive, listening for unmet needs,
and creating demand. Regularly present ideas that can help the
company drive positive changes in a product, process, or way of
thinking.
Look Ahead and Anticipate
Solve problems before they happen by anticipating future needs
and addressing them in advance. Preventing issues is always
more effective than fixing them.
Embrace Change
Expect change and embrace it with open arms. Without change,
an organization can’t survive. Whether it be industry changes,
team changes or other organizational changes, maintain an open
mindset and find ways to positively impact and support these
changes.
Take Initiative
Take ownership in your duties, roles, responsibilities and
everything you do. Don’t wait to be asked by your supervisor, or
for someone else to do it. Take the initiative and jump right in!
Assert Recommendations
Don’t just identify a problem or ask for resources. Recommend
several opportunities to make a change, resolve a conflict, or do
something better. Do the research, be proactive, and strive to
make the situation better.
Do the Right Thing...Always
Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to doing the right
thing in every action you take and in every decision you make,
even when no one is looking. Always tell the truth. If you make a
mistake, own up to it, apologize, and make it right. Do the right
thing….always.
Learn from Mistakes
Understand that everyone makes mistakes. They’re the
foundation from which we learn and grow. Get smarter with every
mistake and make a habit of learning from every experience so
we don’t make the same mistake again.
Take
Ownership
Commit
to Win
Find a Way
When challenges arise, find a way to make it happen. It isn’t good
enough to say ”I tried.” While mountains of obstacles and thousands of
excuses may be in your way, the team and our customers are counting
on you to figure it out. Be a maverick and look at every situation from
the lens of how you can get it done – somehow, someway.
Make Quality Personal
The quality of your work is a direct reflection of your personal pride.
Make the output of what you do on a daily basis reflect the best
representation of yourself and your work. Take pride in what you do, and
make it your best. Everything you touch has your signature. Sign in bold
ink.
Pay Attention to the Details
Pay special attention to the little things, be persistent about crossing the
“t’s” and dotting the “i’s”. Be a fanatic about accuracy and precision.
Double-check your work…details matter.
Go the Extra Mile
Be willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish the job…plus a little
bit more. Take the next step to solve the problem. Even if it takes doing
something that’s not in your job description, it’s the extra mile that
separates the average person from the superstar. Be a superstar.
Create Win-Win Solutions
It’s a 2-way street. Learn to think from others perspectives. Discover
what they need and find a way to help them meet those needs while
also fulfilling your own. Win-win solutions are always more effective and
longer lasting than win-lose solutions.
Get Clear on Expectations
Set and establish expectations that are well defined. Clarity and
alignment on initiatives will accelerate projects and yield higher,
successful outcomes. Remember, if we were all mind readers
we’d be drinking a margarita on our recently acquired private
island somewhere off the coast of St. Lucia.
Create a Tone of Friendliness and Warmth
Approach customers and one another with warmth and
friendliness. Every conversation, phone call, email, letter and
voicemail is an opportunity to show kindness. Relationships and
happy customers are built one interaction at a time.
Communicate to be Understood
Know your audience. Write and speak in a way that they can
understand. Avoid using internal lingo, acronyms and industry
jargon. Use the simplest possible explanations.
Be a Great Listener
Sometimes the best way to resolve issues is by not talking at all.
Be a better listener than you are a speaker, and work hard to find
the perspective and message of others. Be inquisitive and open
minded to each others ideas. Be present and engaged. Listen
with care and empathy. Above all, listen to understand.
Communicate
with Impact
Think Team
Honor Commitments
Earn trust by honoring commitments and timelines. Make sure
customers, co-workers and partners know they can count on us to get
the job done the way we agreed to do it. This includes being on time for
phone calls, appointments, meetings, deadlines, and promises. Allow
extra time for surprises and delays, and don’t let them become excuses.
Celebrate All Successes
Celebrate with each other the many accomplishments and wins along the
way. Go out of your way to recognize your peers doing something well,
and congratulate them on their wins. Together everyone achieves more!
Respect Teammates
Everyone appreciates the opportunity to be held to a higher standard.
Respect is the ultimate sign of appreciation and regard for your
teammates. Bad days, personal conflicts, or differences in roles is not an
excuse. Always demonstrate respect for each and every one on the team.
Practice Blameless Problem-Solving
Work as a team to solve problems together. Don’t search for blame or
dwell on problems – this is a waste of talented resources. Look forward
and develop solutions together, applying creativity, spirit and enthusiasm.
Contribute to a Positive Work Environment
Help make Séura a place you look forward to visiting each day. Be
fun, laugh, act silly, consistently seek the silver lining in situations.
Remember the world has bigger problems than the daily challenges
that make up our work. Keep perspective. A positive attitude causes a
chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes that lead to
extraordinary results.
