Kelikottu <strong>2018</strong>- A Retrospect<br />
The three year wait culminated on 9th <strong>June</strong> <strong>2018</strong> at<br />
Manpho Convention Centre, Ring Road, Near Manyata<br />
Tech Park . Kelikottu <strong>2018</strong>, the envy of all Malayali<br />
communities in Bangalore was a run away success in<br />
terms of conduct and quality of programme. When we<br />
reflect upon the two day event, we will understand the<br />
volume and depth of our talents, our organisational skill<br />
and above all the unity among the 38 Karayogams in<br />
Karnataka.<br />
Just after a day of <strong>KNSS</strong> foundation day, on 8th <strong>June</strong>,<br />
celebration started with the Inaugurationof Kelikottu on<br />
Saturday, the JUNE 9THby lighting the Bhadradeepam<br />
followed by Pushparchana’, the floral tribute to<br />
Acharya Mannath Padmanabhan and Sri Sri Chattambi<br />
Swamikal.<strong>KNSS</strong> Chair man Sri. Ramachandran Paleri,<br />
Adv. V. Vijaya kumar General Convener and Vice<br />
Chairman I, General Secretary , Treasurer and all other<br />
Office Bearers were present on the occasion along with<br />
Kelikottu <strong>2018</strong> Advisors, Conveners, Jt Conveners,<br />
Mahila Vibhag Core Committee members, Youth wing<br />
members and scores of Karayogam members. The<br />
march past by all 38 Karayogam members and MMECT<br />
School staff and students was a treat worth watching.<br />
The Kelikottu celebrations were started with the<br />
customary invocation and the rendering of Vishnu<br />
Sahasra Namam in a fusion of eight ragas namely<br />
revathy,Hindolam, Revagupti, AhirBhairav,<br />
Amruthvarshini, Shivaranjini, Darbari Kaanara and<br />

Madhyamavathi. The rendition was a delight to all<br />
present , which was lead by SmtPriya R Pai, the famous<br />
Carnatic Singer and Amrutha TV Sandya Deepam fame.<br />
The marvellous cultural programme by our Karayogam<br />
members and Thiruvathira by Mahila members stunned<br />
the audience andkept them in awe.<br />
We were fortunate enough to have Shri Prabha Varma,<br />
the famous Malayalam Poet and Press Advisor to Chief<br />
Minister, Kerala besides Shri P R Nathan, celebrated<br />
Novelist and speaker and our own<br />
Shri V K Prakash, eminent film<br />
director and national award winner<br />
who shared the dais and gave away<br />
‘precious gyan’ as we call it, on the<br />
importance of cultural gathering<br />
like this, other than the monotonous<br />
physical existence.<br />
Day I culminated with a magnificent<br />
Mega Musical Event presented<br />
by Amma Musical Event wherein<br />
popular play back singers Shri Biju<br />
Narayana and SmtJyolsna and team<br />
mesmerised the audience with the<br />
melodious songs. Keeping their<br />
company was the fabulous Asianet Cine mala team lead<br />
by Harisree Martin and team and the Cochin Volcano<br />
groupwith their stupendous dance performane.<br />
Day II started with invocation and lighting of the<br />
Bhadradeepam followed by Pushparchana’, the floral<br />
tribute to Acharya Mannath Padmanabhan and Sri<br />
Chattambi Swamikal and an invocation. Superlative<br />
performance by our Karayogams and of course MMET<br />
School Children. These children proved that they<br />
too can perform with tact, precision and speed. The<br />
Thiruvathira, our traditional dance was the cynosure of<br />
all eyes.<br />
The Public meeting was literally turned into a confession<br />
