GEELONG CAMPUSES
The prayer room at the Waurn Ponds campus has
separate washing facilities for men and women,
as well as separate salaah facilities. It is equipped
with prayer mats, slippers and also offers
refrigeration, microwave tea/coffee facilities.
The prayer room is managed by the Muslim
Students Association (MSA). The security
codes to enter the prayer room at the Geelong
Campuses can be obtained at the Deakin
International office and Student Life at the
relevant campus.
Prayer time tables could be obtained at the
Geelong Mosque for a small surcharge which will
be contributed to the maintenance of the mosque
or can be printed from www.icv.org.au.

Halal food on campus
The Deakin cafeterias at the Geelong campuses
offer one hot halal meal per day, which may
be red meat or chicken. Halal meals are clearly
displayed with a halal symbol at the counter.
Please ask staff to clarify if it is not clear.
Vegetarian options are also usually available.
Students intending to stay at the Residences at
the Waurn Ponds campus should notify them of
any special dietary needs. It is the responsibility
of each Muslim individual to check and verify that
the meals are halal.

The Deakin cafeteria at Warrnambool offers one
hot halal meal per day, which may be red meat
or chicken. Halal meals are clearly displayed with
a halal symbol at the counter. Please ask staff to
clarify if it is not clear. Vegetarian options are also
usually available. Students intending to stay at the
Residences at the Warrnambool campus should
notify them of any special dietary needs.
Halal food outlets and restaurants in Warrnambool
Although there are no halal food outlets or
restaurants in Warrnambool, some halal products
are available from local supermarkets. Please
contact the ISA in Deakin International at the
Warrnambool campus for further information.
