“I feel blessed to be able to stay in
Charlottesville and give back to this community
through baseball, which has given a lot to me,”
said Hunt, who will continue as the MHS coach
and school registrar. “Baseball in Charlottesville
means a lot to me.”
“The game of baseball doesn’t change,” he
said. “Whatever level you’re at, the
fundamentals stay the same. Coaching it at
different levels is going to be a challenge, but I’ll
show up to the ball field every day.”
Hunt said Virginia head coach Brian O’Connor
and his staff were his inspiration for going into
coaching.
“They go about their business every day giving
100 percent,” Hunt said. “That’s what they’ve
instilled in me and what I’ve taken from them. I
wouldn’t be in this position without guys like
that who have showed me.”
