At Playland International, we have committed ourselves to<br />
reducing our impact on the environment by identifying<br />
and controlling those aspects of our operation that could<br />
positively affect our use of the earth’s resources. In 2010, we were<br />
proud to announce confirmation of this commitment by obtaining our<br />
ISO 14001: 2004 certification.<br />
Every day, we strive to maintain a positive and preventive approach<br />
through continual monitoring, measuring and improving our<br />
manufacturing process. Nothing makes this more evident than our<br />
new extended warranty, which guarantees that Playland equipment<br />
will last longer than any other equipment in the industry. 99.9% of<br />
our packing is wooden pallets, cardboard and/or plastic wrap, most<br />
all of which is reused or recycled.<br />
At Playland, we recognize that respecting the environment is<br />
important not only now, but for future generations, and what better<br />
way than to begin with the playgrounds on which our children play.<br />
ISO 14001: 2004 is an internationally accepted standard<br />
designed to address the delicate balance between<br />
successful manufacturing and reducing environmental<br />
impact. Playland is now ISO 14001 certified. We<br />
are committed to identifying and understanding<br />
environmental laws relevant to our business, and<br />
producing objectives for continuous improvement of<br />
conservation. We have put in place a management<br />
program to comply with these laws and continually<br />
decrease our impact on the environment.<br />
Playland’s line of recycled playgrounds offers a unique<br />
solution for our environmentally conscious clients. This<br />
line features PolyTuf plastic lumber posts made from<br />
post-consumer and post-industrial HDPE plastics, the<br />
kind found in milk jugs. Using recycled HDPE keeps tons<br />
of plastics out of landfills every year and HDPE is the<br />
most environmentally stable plastic, giving off no harmful<br />
fumes into the environment. The Healthy Building<br />
Network recommends HDPE resin-based products as the<br />
most environmentally friendly plastic building materials.<br />
Playland playground components and steel posts are<br />
nearly 100% recyclable and much of the materials used<br />
to build our playgrounds are made from material that<br />
is already partially recycled. Our steel is made from a<br />
minimum of 30% recycled material and may contain up<br />
to 100% recycled material and our poly sheet plastic<br />
contains up to 50% post-industrial recycled material.

The focus for this age group is on social interaction;<br />
activities that make for great group fun, with just the<br />
right level of physical challenge. Activity panels, slides,<br />
climbers and swings all meet or exceed ASTM and<br />
IPEMA safety guidelines for this age group.<br />
The 2 to 5 age group requires guard rails and barriers<br />
at much lower deck heights than the older age<br />
group. Deck heights for horizontal ladder launches<br />

Sometimes separate playgrounds are not an option, so structures must be created and<br />
designed to meet the needs of both age groups. Here are some of the main issues when<br />
grouping components:<br />
- Younger children require barriers on lower decks.<br />
- Overhead ladders must<br />
be lower to accommodate<br />
younger children.<br />
To accommodate both<br />
age groups, both sets of<br />
guidelines must be met.<br />
You must also make sure to<br />
limit use of the playground<br />
to one age group at a time<br />
or, if not possible, you must<br />
ensure there is enough<br />
supervision to create a<br />
safe environment for all the<br />
children.<br />

Our recycled playground line features recycled posts made<br />
from post consumer and post industrial waste, along with<br />
additional reinforcement for strength. Other benefits of this<br />
earth friendly playground product include:<br />

refinishing needed<br />
• Exceptional resistance to moisture and fading<br />
• Impervious to insects and salt air<br />
Installation is simple and easy with a 4-bolt direct connect<br />
attachment system resulting in a clean look for your<br />

The decks featured in our recycled playgrounds are the same<br />
high quality 12 gauge steel that is used in our traditional<br />
structures, but are plank style to further give the recycled<br />

Decks are made from 12 gauge hot-rolled<br />
punched steel. The perforated surface has<br />
holes that are approximately 1/2” in diameter<br />
after coating and 1.25” on center spacing<br />
between perforations. Decks for recycled<br />
structures have a plank pattern. Planks are<br />
5-5/8” wide with 5/16” spacing after coating.<br />
All of our decks mount flush to one another or at<br />
offset heights to create challenge and interest.<br />

Independent play structures are a great way to provide an alternate play environment<br />

Our outdoor furniture stems from 27 years of experience in developing and manufacturing<br />

seating and convenient clean up beneath. You<br />
can choose from the wide selection of patterns<br />
for the tops and seats. The 2 7/8” OD frames<br />
add strength and durability. Mounting plates are<br />
standard and can be either bolted down for<br />
surface mounting application or left un-bolted<br />
for portable applications. Stationary frames<br />
with an extra 30” length on the frame legs to<br />
allow for inground mounting are also available.<br />
Surface mount covers (SMLCOVER) are available<br />
for that final finished look.<br />

metal. They are welded inside a strong 2” angle iron frame with a protective thermo-plastic coating.<br />

This warranty is valid only if the structures are installed in conformity with instructions provided by Playland<br />
using approved Playland parts. Playland International, Inc. will deliver the repaired or replacement part or parts<br />
to the site free of charge, but will not be responsible for labor or the labor costs of replacement. Warranty<br />
