<strong>FAREWELL</strong> <strong>TO</strong> <strong>PLAYLAND</strong> <strong>AT</strong> <strong>ST</strong>. <strong>CECILIA</strong><br />
Playland at <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Cecilia</strong> came and went in a flash, and we were sorry to see it end. As the<br />
Chairpersons of this event, we would like to extend a huge thank you to all who helped with<br />
this event in any way. We don’t know who had more fun, the kids or all of us.<br />
First of all, none of this happens without the tireless work of Sr. Marilyn and Sr. Catherine. It began with all the advice in<br />
the months leading up to the Festival and the organization that is demonstrated during set-up and clean-up. Masterful!<br />
They have wonderful efficient back-ups in the "Karens" who field so many jobs relating to this event cheerfully whenever<br />
we stuck our heads in the office. Elaine Shanahan, you were a lifesaver, thank you so much for all your help with weekly<br />
raffle and communication handouts. To the 7th and 8th Grade student volunteer army, we salute you, and we thank your<br />
teachers for filling in so many shifts during the Festival. We appreciate all the extra time the teachers put in at the event, in<br />
the classroom and in extended care having the students make the beautiful and creative artwork that bring such a special<br />
and personal touch to our Festival. Thanks kids!<br />
We want to thank Monsignor Harriman and his staff for their leadership and for giving us the latitude to bring in the Game<br />
Truck, play loud music and string banners across the schoolyard while we were throwing salami at the wall. Crazy<br />
Carnies! We would also like to call attention to the Rectory office staff: Jessica, Luana and Mary. We went through a lot<br />
pulling this together and you were all so calm and extremely helpful in tough times, and everything turn out swell.<br />
To the 2010 Playland at <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Cecilia</strong> Festival <strong>St</strong>aff, the words “Thank You” just doesn't cover it. These are the hardest<br />
working people with the best attitudes we have ever met. Beginning Tuesday afternoon into the evening with John Pasini<br />
and Leo McFadden's operations crew with their two right hand guys, Mark Schumann and Gino Rinaldi, to Wednesday<br />
night when Sarah Schumann, Lisa Simpson and Jana Gee’s decorators arrive, to Thursday when the Booth Chairs take<br />
over their kingdoms for the entire weekend, all the while with smiles and "How can we help?" Simply amazing!<br />
Thanks to Silent Auction Co-Chairs: Tanya Aloise and Michelle O’Driscoll and their team for the months of hard work in<br />
collecting items and assembling the beautiful display of auction baskets! Salute to The Caltagirone’s and The Garcia’s for<br />
running a smooth operation at the Playland Lounge. Thanks to Francesca Flaherty and Howard Tong for having another<br />
successful snack bar and to Mike O’Driscoll for cooking up his Italian Beef sandwiches. Huge thanks to Dave Dorantes<br />
and Tom Smith and their security staff; we are so fortunate to have SF's Finest taking care of business here every year.<br />
