as a 14-year-old freshman entering<br />
<strong>Chaminade</strong> <strong>Julienne</strong> 10 years ago, I<br />
could only dream of what was<br />
possible in my future. My experience<br />
at CJ not only prepared me to realize<br />
that dream, but it opened up so much<br />
more. God has blessed me with an ability<br />
to play basketball at the highest level. It is a<br />
game that I love and one that has afforded me<br />
some tremendous opportunities. Following my<br />
graduation from CJ, I proceeded on to graduate<br />
from Xavier university after receiving a full<br />
scholarship. I traveled the world, and now play<br />
professionally in the nBa for the Charlotte Bobcats.<br />
Throughout these experiences, the lessons I learned<br />
at CJ have been with me throughout it all.<br />
When I first arrived at Xavier, I recognized immediately<br />
that I had been given a leg up over my classmates<br />
because of my education at CJ, but it was much<br />
more than that. The teachers and staff at CJ who<br />
believed in me taught me the importance of making<br />
a positive contribution to the community. I learned<br />
the value of embracing diverse culture, and how<br />
important it is to care about those around me.<br />

My fondest memory of CJ is when I had the<br />
opportunity to go on the Kairos retreat my senior<br />
year where all the lessons I had learned over the<br />
past four years came to light. This retreat along<br />
with the hundreds of other experiences helped to<br />
shape the man I am today. I feel extremely proud<br />
and blessed to call myself a graduate of <strong>Chaminade</strong><br />
<strong>Julienne</strong>, and no matter what uniform I wear, I am<br />
always an Eagle at heart.<br />
